Fresher's Cafe is the first & friendliest cafe in Ambleside. We serve excellent coffee, teas, cold drinks, light bites & homemade cakes. Feel free to eat-in or take-away - If you choose to stay we have both indoor & outdoor seating. If the weather is nice you can relax in the suntrap outdoor courtyard. There is some limited free customer parking just past the shop. Good dogs welcome!

Hi there! We do have a few choices for vegans - we serve things like crumpets, tea cakes & toast for breakfast. We are able to rustle up a salad sandwich and we usually keep a pot of hummus to help give it a little more substance for our vegan customers. Jacket potatoes are another popular option for vegans. While our soups on offer do change week to week, I try my best to ensure that there is a soup suitable for vegans (i.e. vegetarian with no added cream or other dairy) on any given day. I am also happy to say we have very recently started selling our first vegan cake - a date flapjack! I wouldn't call our selection for vegans 'expansive' but there will be definitely something for you to try should you call in. Oh! Almost forgot, we always keep a bottle of soya milk on hand for drinks too!
