Great, friendly pub with delicious food. We had a very warm welcome today from Jools who told us all about the history of the location. The fish and chips and stew were just what we were hoping for. Good drinks selection. Would recommend this pub to anyone visiting Dover! Abi, Charles & James

We were truly surprised when we got here, not expecting much but the meals were awesome for pub meals, I have to say. They are cooked by locals and this made for a great meal. We ended up going back the next day for lunch again we enjoyed it so much. The place is very quaint with all its history... More

Having lived in Dover on and off most of my life, this was my first visit to The White Horse Pub. I felt at home on arrival, was greeted and seated, and made to feel welcome straight away. The staff were attentive, helpful and met with all my requests. The menu had a range of foods, with very reasonable prices.... More

Amazing to see the walls of the pub covered with names and nationalities of the all who have crossed the English Channel--by swimming it! The fish&chips was tasty as well.

We went back after a period of not frequenting the White Horse due to the unrelenting melancholic moodiness of the previous landlord who seemed to begrudge serving anything, whether that be a smile or a pint of best. However, the new double-act who have taken over the pub do not disappoint. Good humour, quick and efficient service, superbly kept beer,... More

After arriving at our stay (the gate house), we decided to go for a wonder into Dover town, on the way back we went into "the white horse" to have a refreshing pint. We were the only ones in the pub when arrived and the bar lady was really friendly, the pub has an open fire and all the signatures,... More

I visited The White Horse this evening with friends and thoroughly enjoyed the beef stew with mash potato and bread. My friends opted for the home made burgers and were not disappointed. In addition to the excellent food the White Horse serves a good selection of beers. When in Dover I would recommend a visit. 10/10.

Another excellent afternoon and evening this pub is not to be missed. The atmosphere in here is excellent with Stuart and jules making you feel so welcome and the bar staff friendly and happy. There is a wide variety of drinks and a lot different gin types. I have eaten in here on several occasions and the food is out... More

A fantastic fun night at the White Horse, starting with a warm welcome followed by a delicious dinner for two, then finishing the evening of in the good company of the wonderful hosts Jules and Stuart... Looking for a good local pub with brilliant atmosphere and good food, then I highly recommend a visit.
