at the end of the day is a wetherspoons so what do you expect? not the nicest looking one I have ever been too and could do with some updating and also more staff to clean the always dirty tables, however for a cheap eat its pretty good and a great selection of gins.

We visited Dover for a day, we arrived around 9 and wanted to have an English breakfast so we chose Wetherspoons as it's cheap, quite fast. When we entered the pub was half full and literally all(!!) of the people inside were men around 50-60 years old and all(!!) of them had a pint of beer in front of them.... More

I often feel Wetherspoon's pubs act as a kind of community centre and this is especially true in a town like Dover. There are a lot of unfortunate, unemployed, disabled, lonely and downright depressed people in Dover. Wetherspoons gives them a bit of a lift in their lives. The 8 Bells is clean, comfortable, warm in winter, has pleasant, efficient... More

You can never be disappointed with a Whetherspoons. Ate here today as visiting Dover and wanted somewhere quick and cheap without worrying about quality. We fed 3 of us a good size, tasty meal (complete with drink) for less than £20. The price is cheap and it's not a gourmet meal, but for the price there really is nothing to... More

Wetherspoons does not claim to be a high class restaurant, but it does provide a very extensive selection of food. We visited on a Thursday which meant I could select a Balti curry with rice and a naan and a free drink - all for well under ten pounds. All the dishes ordered came quite promptly and all at the... Had a late lunch here which was lovely and served quickly, friends had the £3.95 breakfast the next day, they were very pleased. Has a stairlift for the few stairs up to more tables and the loos.

I visited the eight bells on bank holiday Monday as I was driving through the area. The pub is in the high street and when I visited at 4.30pm there were still plenty of tables to sit at. I ordered a pint of Pepsi and a pint of shandy to drink along with their chilli con carne. The 2 people... More

A busy pub, all staff were friendly and the food was of the standard I expect. Some of the tables were left with empty plates and glasses on so looked a little untidy.
