We went here for a cream tea birthday treat. The area we sat in was very shabby with wallpaper peeling off the wall. We were given stained tea cups and when we asked for clean ones the waitress was quite rude to us and said she would take them away bleach them and bring them back. There were 7 of... More

Stayed overnight and had dinner in restaurant. Food is really good here, very tasty and they have a very good selection of wines. Highly recommend

On arrival staff were extremely helpful and on entering our room which was very nice there were no towels in the bathroom. There was water and tea and a cafetière which was much better than the coffee sachets, and not to forget the homemade biscuits that were delicious. We had this trip from our daughter and son in law for... More

Having been to this restaurant a few times over several years this time the meal was disappointing. Perhaps it was because for the first time we had the tasting menu or maybe my expectations were too high. No crackling with the belly of pork, poor over cooked vegetables. Expensive wine. Sorry but this time I left unsatisfied. The waitresses were... More

We took advantage of an offer and finally visited this restaurant . We managed to get there by the 91 bus from Dover bus station. The place is bright and clean with great decor . The service from our waitress was fantastic from start to finish. We had three courses all delicious and well prepared. The arrival of the cheese... More

We visited last night, there were four of and we used travelzoo vouchers. The food was gorgeous and although the portions aren't enormous with the small canapés and bread we were more than full. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely evening, friendly but professional. Only criticism it wasn't till... More

My wife and I received a Groupon voucher for one nights stay with taster menu dinner and breakfast. We had no issues with booking our stay, although we did have to pay another £10 each as we wanted to use our voucher at a specific time of year. Fair enough. On our arrival we were warmly welcomed, booked in very... More

This was a comfortable hotel with lovely views. The food was very good and we found the tasting menu was more than enough food. I really enjoyed it and as we booked a special deal it was incredibly reasonably priced given how good it was. Nice wine even though we didn't go for any of the bottles in the hundreds... More

My friend took me for an afternoon tea and it was not a pleasant atmosphere. The food was incredibly overpriced, we had booked for two adults plus a child but added a third adult and the staff did not make any effort to make us feel welcome. It felt like we were an inconvenience. It was very 'robotic' service, but... More

We decided to have lunch on Boxing Day in this restaurant - couldn't really have picked a better place. Food was excellent as was the service a really great choice - were told that this was similar to the Sunday lunch menu - we will definitely be returning for a Sunday lunch soon.

Description
We hope you're feeling hungry... Look forward to robust, fresh flavors served with imagination and flair in east Kent's newest contemporary restaurant. Our Head Chef presides over heavenly menus that change regularly and use locally caught fish and locally sourced produce. The wine, beer and drinks list is also top notch. Old school... New World... Kent wines from Kent vineyards... Local real ales... Great taste is everything at the Marquis.
