Much bigger than we thought. Plenty of seating and a very large outside area with Ping Pong!! Drinks were good quality. Nice touch of fresh flowers on the table. Menu looked good too. Will visit again!!

We went for a friends birthday. They hired the cook and we all brought food for him to cook on the barbecue. Lovely pub with lovely atmosphere. 2 hour parking in front for the non drinkers and the garden is nice with benches and large covered seating area.

a short walk from our hotel we found attentive staff and a lovely warm welcome plus a superb inn to relax and enjoy a drink. This led to the menu and a very tasty meal at a very reasonable price. We were all impressed by the help our disabled companion was given and the two young children by staff who went out... I often go to old city bar with work friends and it's a great little pub with nice food. It has friendly homely atmosphere. Drinks are rather cheap and all the staff are friendly

I have been to the Old City before for a drink, but this was the first time I had been for lunch, and I must say it wasn't bad at all! It's a great pub, with some fine ales, with a good atmosphere and friendly staff. I had the steak, medium rare, and chips. It was cooked just right and... More

You are made to feel welcome as soon as you enter. The staff explain about the beers and offer knowledge about the local area. The pub could be likened to the Tardis. Small bars at the front and then another small dining room which flows into a large room at the back and a great beer garden. The food is... More

Nice beer garden but the food was shocking. Burnt old cold chips re fried in dirty old oil at £3 and a handful of pre bagged and chopped mixed leaf salad that's pre bagged, about 1/4 of a chicken breast and a few slithers of tiny salami with a load of value salad dressing slopped over it for £7.25. Shockingly... More

Not overly impressed with the food menu - all a bit deep fried for my taste. Has a decent sized beer garden at the rear and is dog friendly
