Really helpful owners both pre the event and on the day of the event. Well kept and presented room above the pub. Cosy pub to grab a drink before or after or during planning. Lovely location but parking a challenge.

Booked in with family for Sunday lunch. There was a great choice and nothing was to much trouble. The staff where friendly and it was good value for money we thought.

Always a lovely experience at The Old Barge, my favourite Hertford eating and drinking establishment. Good quality food and well kept draught served by friendly staff, what more do you need on a rainy Saturday afternoon? I just had a minted lamb shank off the...More

Recently discovered as we wandered along the river - there is a restaurant area with good views and great service. There are always specials and also a good lunch menu with plenty of stuff for veggies. It makes a nice change from a Coffee Shop...More

We had a family lunch here during the Christmas week and were all very impressed. The staff were really polite and attentive and the food was delicious. The amount of vegetarian choices was impressive!

An excellent establishment for taking your infants. Plenty of room for prams and buggies. Seating at the bar for your slightly older children (under 10's only please) to while away their time on daddy's iPhone on the latest gaming apps. Apparently, they do serve very...More

Hi Colebag, thanks for your many positive comments. (And happy new year to you) I would like to point to other readers though that Christmas Eve was far from the norm! Nor do we have plenty of room for prams and buggies. We are very...More

Went for a works do, but from the outset it was clearly going to be a militant operation! We were told we were not allowed to order drinks at the bar, the manager argued with three members of our group, then tried to charge service...More

10% is standard on all tables of 10 or more, and there were I believe, 17 of you. This has nothing to do with greed and every penny goes directly to the staff. I argued with you because the way you were treating myself and...More
