We took so long pondering their lunch menu and specials board, we had coffee before ordering which was one of the best I've tasted (not sure what brand they use but for decaff it's excellent). I was still adding the generous serving of hot milk...More

Thanks very much for your comments. We use a local coffee supplier for both decaf and caffeinated. Do try the churros next time, they're delicious!

Midweek, so very quiet. Service was excellent. Food was okay. Gilbies must be doing something right, it's seen quite a few other local restaurants open & close during its existence.

We had an exceptionally delicious lunch. I had tender beef, but pork or lamb looked good too with plenty of varied veg and gravy. Excellent service from well-trained staff and very good wines as well.

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle in a picturesque courtyard overlooked by St. Peter's church spire. Here is, quite simply, the only place to visit if it is a continental flavour that you are looking for. Where else in this little market town could you sit outside under the canopy of a huge grapevine and enjoy a pitcher of Europe's finest beer or lager? Here is an ideal spot to relax and contemplate life whilst sipping one of the worlds many varieties of wine.
