Not an exciting menu, basic pub far. Chips could be better as they came with most dishes and the steak could be a thicker cut. Service was very good as the staff were accomodating and friendly. The dark grey walls and the odd theatre furniture...More

We don't live in Winchester but had arranged to meet my sister husband and dog here. We had a very friendly greeting from a greek gentleman who made sure we had everything we needed. Initially we were a bit concerned as we were the only...More

The staff was friendly and accomodating. Gluten free options were available. The food was tasty and the beer and cider were good.

Hired the room upstairs for a large family dinner with young children included. Lovely room with delicious food and staff readily available to help but not overly attentive. Would definitely recommend.

We went for lunch with friends. Wheelchair accessability - There is a step up into the pub which is approximately between 11 and 14cms high. I found it difficult in my power chair and had a bump up by friends and a manual chair would...More

Nice 'bar' atmosphere with intimate lighting. Good food menu; convenient for cinema across the street; service excellent.

We came here for our friend's birthday party and had a great time. The atmosphere was great, the wine and whisky selection was good, and the bar manager was exceptionally attentive and friendly, creating a marvelous array of cocktails and non-alcoholic cocktails for us, adding...More

We went here for a Mother’s Day treat with both the parents and in laws. We loved the layout of the pub, very quirky yet slightly cramped cinema styled seats. The service was good with friendly staff. The food it self was good (not great)....More

The food at the Green Man is decent. The service is not great. We have had several visits where we treated quite rudely. On the last occasion we were told that, despite arriving just 5 minutes late for a reservation, we were “not a priority”...More

I write again to you this is nonsense. Why you feel it is appropriate to leave two very poor reviews for two sister sites is baffling and frankly dishonest.

Straight out of Everyman cinema and straight into this lovely pub. Most of the tables were reserved but we found a cosy table. The staff were friendly and took our order promptly. The fish and chips that arrived were truly delicious. Crispy white fish in...More

I'm afraid we don't have a car park on site but we're just a short walk away from the Tower Street car park off the High Street. There is also some short-stay parking available on some of the surrounding roads.

The Green Man is so much more than a pub. It is a little enclave of hospitality; a stylish hang-out, and a great meeting place for friends, family or an intimate tete-a-tete. At The Green Man we specialise in locally sourced produce, resulting in an array of interesting and scrumptious dishes. All of that, coupled with lovely, bubbly staff and wonderfully welcoming service, makes The Green Man a rather special place to be. Come and join us in our eclectic retro furnished bar. Enjoy a great choice of beers, an impressive and very well researched wine list (hic!), and our specialty cocktails, not forgetting of course our rather unique boutique spirits list. We're just a stone's throw away (4 minutes to be precise) from the historic Winchester Cathedral, surrounded by culture, and noted as a hidden gem in the old capital of England. Not only do we have a very cool and relaxing bar area, but we also have an exquisite Edwardian style dining room, which is the perfect place for a Sunday roast or destination dinner. And if you are looking for that special venue for your forthcoming event then our Outhouse is a quirky mixture of rustic and industrial style; ideal for birthday's, afternoon tea's and specialty vintage weddings.
