Really nice birthday meal here, the duck was amazing and the service was excellent, came in had a drink and then were seated straight away. Some things were quite pricey but I'd say it is definitely worth the money.

Went for late brunch about noon on Sunday. The food was lovely but the service was terrible. On separate occasions we were both kept waiting at the bar for ages with no explanation or apology. It wasn't busy but it just felt as if the staff didn't care. When we did get served both gents that served us were monosyllabic... More

Sunday evening in Oxford Street and this was our restaurant of choice, but unfortunately a bad choice on the day. Arrived at 6:30, didn't get food until 7:30 and when it arrived, it was very poor. I think the rib eye steak was more like a donkey steak (Not that I've even knowingly had a Donkey steak!) The waitress was... More

Annoying how long we had to wait once sitted. As we ordered the drinks we did the starters and it took nearly 45 minutes to have then on the table. Between those and the mains one and half hour more. Was unbelievable. The food was ok and the persons nice but the waiting...we almost went crazy. Be patient if you... More

The White Star is a real gem on Oxford Street. It's spacious and stylishly designed with modern furnishings. There are several spaces to sit and just have a drink, which many people do, particularly on the weekend evenings when the place tends to be packed and with a great atmosphere. There's also an AA standard restaurant serving delicious food if... More

We went there with a group of twenty people and were requested to chose the meals in advance. The look and quality of the food was absolutely great. Also, we were very pleased with the selection of wine, beer and ciders. Good value for price. The "death by chocolate" desert was very creative. Service was a bit shy but very... More

By far one of the best places in Southampton to have a dinner or a cheeky drink after work - great selection of dishes - no matter how fussy easter you're, you will find something here. Also, the meals are very nicely presented - top class! Not too pricey. Good selection of drinks at the bar too - quite a... More

We went in for drinks. They didn't have peach schnapps for bellinis, and Mojitos were not very good. Expensive, first and last time for cocktails there.

This is a lovely period pub, nicely updated and decorated and the kind of place you just feel comfortable and want to stick around. The wine list was good and the Saturday lunch menu was quite short but has great comfort food options and almost everything was available gluten free. I really enjoyed the homemade burger and fries. The staff... More

Came here with the wife on a Saturday daytime and enjoyed some lovely cocktails and beers. The staff are great, very friendly...the drinks are made very well, the surroundings are lovely, very quite and chilled out. Would love to come back and try the food. Would highly recommend.
