Devotedly run and offering some interesting ales and ciders. Swear at your peril! The swear box (in aid of a Cancer charity) sits upon the bar. A warm comfortable environment where you can sit and enjoy your drink.....and catch up on village gossip!
When reading the reviews on the pear tree please be aware some are out of date,,it's now a micro pub no longer serving food with shorter opening hours hence real ales, cider and cosy atmosphere all served to the highest standard,,well worth a visit...

Now in the hands of its owners and recently refurbished at long last this is now a great little pub. Comfortable and cosy bar. Open fire. Professional landlady who knows her trade. Excellent cask ales and local ciders. Even a lager for those that want...it. Shuts by 9:30pm apart from Saturdays - 10:30pm. Swearing not allowed. Regular clientele.More
Lovely little pub in the heart of the village - very welcoming - options on some beer / cider that couldn't fault - log fire - basically a pub I'd go back to and recommend to whoever asked. Proper pub.
Very friendly, grounded, welcome into a quirky small but intimate bar with a log fire going and some good hand drawn rural / cartoon artwork on the walls. The Tribute ale was good, and the Cornish lager was fine too. A shame no food as...yet but there are plans to re purpose a further area of the pub. Toilets seem newly & thoughtfully refurbished, clean & tidy. Night time so didn't get to see the outside space but would call in again if passing by.More
