I've recently been shown a review written by a gentleman named "Clive." I have little interest in reviews but felt obligated to respond. I have eaten, drank and slept at The Kings Arms on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed the experience. The staff are friendly, food is good and atmosphere jovial. I note in the review a point is... More

We stayed in Stow for five nights and ate out for four of these. Kings Arms was our clear favorite: exquisite roast lamb and a burger, along with a lovely bottle of NZ Pinot Noir and a cheese platter for dessert. The good was all top notch and the service likewise. Other places were good too but Kings Arms definitely... More

Went here to sample their Pie Night (£10.95 with a drink),just what I fancied ,a lovely PIE, lots of pastry ,mash and peas. There were 3 on offer ,I went for the pork, when it arrived it's a POT pie ,it's a pot of meat with a detachable lid,(like a tortoise with a detachable roof ) .NOT a pie ,look up... More

Nice decor. The pretty dark haired barmaid was a delight very personable they other seemed rushed no always a good way to come across. We choose to eat in the restaurant which was lovely. We went with the special fish and fizz. The fish was beautiful. Very nice place. Would I come again yes definitely it was very nice.

The food was really good, breakfast and evening meal. Sadly the comfort of the room ( Cottage Rake) was disappointing as it looked super on the website. The settee had no support in the seats and you felt as though you were suiting on the floor when you sat down, we used the stairs for a comfort seat downstairs. The... More

Booked on chance for the first night of our holiday. Delighted to find a pub offering Sunday roasts up to 9pm. We arrived half an hour earlier than planned but were pleased that we could be accommodated. We ordered four roast beef dinners @£13.50 (one course) and drinks . The bill was just under £70. The meal looked delicious, and... More

Lovely old style pub with restaurant that serves home made food. Good service, descent portions, tasty and the chocolate brownie was delicious. Caters for children too. Will definitely be coming back.

We were in need of a place to eat in Stow on a Friday night in March. We had just left the Queens Head after receiving our first taste of customer service in this delightful town (see my review of the Queens Head elsewhere on TripAdvisor) and popped in to the Kings on the offchance. We explained the situation to... More

We chose this restaurant partly because it offered a nut roast for a sunday lunch. Unfortunately this was more like a poor stuffing - it had no texture whatsoever and little flavour. All the roasts came covered in gravy which meant everything was soggy whether you wanted gravy or not. The portions were very stingy, especially of the veg, and... More
