I recently had a lovely meal at The Daffodil on a Monday night with great jazz playing as well. The manager Keith had been very helpful before this in negotiating use of some vouchers which had been given to us as a present, and on the night our waitress Hannah was very attentive and efficient.

Dined here with a friend for her birthday. Neither of us had eaten here for a good number of years and it was still very pleasant. Everyone else must have thought so too because the restaurant was full to capacity and it was only a Monday night. Service was fast and friendly and he good was excellent. It's also a... More

Let me explain the title of my review. We ate last night here and we're very impressed with so much. The venue is superb, a 1920's Art Deco style cinema that is very tastefully decorated. The staff from front of house, bar and waiting staff were excellent. We went on a Monday night and thee were half price martini's and... More

Beautiful Art Deco building with pianist sessions and background music. Lovely afternoon tea selection. Sandwiches were freshly made, great cake selection and wonderful home made scones with loads of jam and cream. This place does seem to cater for larger groups. If you were a couple you might want to be seated a little separately as it might feel a... More

Lovely restaurant in a beautiful old building, really nice ambiance. Staff were friendly and polite, service was very professional. Food was delicious, as you would expect from the price tag, but it didn't disappoint. If you fancy splashing-out on a nice meal this is a good place to go.

We had booked for Valentines night. Once seated we were told that there was a set "tasting menu"only. We were not told this at the time of booking. The starters were Celeriac soup and Tuna tartar, followed by a sorbet, none of which my partner liked. The mains were beef and fish, followed by three puddings. We thought the cost... More

We held a 'wake' dinner to celebrate my mother who passed away recently. The restaurant, service, food quality seemed to be much improved from when we went there a few years ago. Cocktails upstairs before the meal downstairs. Would go back again without hestitation.

My wife and I had a wonderful evening at the Daffodil last night. The food was exceptional and good value. The Lobster Bisque starter I had was amazing. Great atmosphere, great Jazz quartet (Kim Cypher - very very good indeed). The staff in this restaurant are very friendly and attentive, without being in your face. Can't wait to visit again... I regularly go here for afternoon tea with friends. Not the cheapest, but love the ambience. They also do jazz mondays with live music plus two for one martinis. What's not to like?
