Treated a friend to lunch here in July for his birthday and we were both really disappointed. Felt like the worst kind of tourist rip off place where they really don't care, and overly charge high prices for poor quality food and service thinking that...More

We first went to this restaurant 6 years ago and every time we visit Brighton now this is our one and only Restaurant. In the summer it is perfect to sit outside with some great entertainment and in Winter it is equally as good. The...More

My friend and I come here every July and always have fish and chips which is delicious. The buskers can be irritating as very loud and not always very good. We always sit outside in the square as the atmosphere is great. I have been...More

Not often do I have a dinner that after you finish you could eat it again. Potatoes to die for and roast beef. Yum yum. Roast chicken was so so moist.

Lovely to sit in the square on a balmy evening - serenaded by a talented busker. Goats cheese and bacon crisy pancake to start ( was ok) moules frites (was tough) and the bread requested to go with it bizarrely came with oil and balsamic...More

We went there for dinner, both ordered starters and mains, my fig starter was not appealing to me, but my partner liked theirs. I did not report this as no one asked if everything was ok with our starters and I was looking forward to...More

There is a small area to the right of the door as you come in where my family and I had a drink whilst we were waiting for one of our party to park

Hello, The restaurant makes no claims to that and if they did I imagine they would advertise it. I suggest you contact Restaurants Brighton for more information. Have a nice day

Description
Nestled amongst Brightons famous Lanes, filled with bohemian cafes and boutiques, is The House Restaurant a favourite hang-out for Brighton's foodies. Located only minutes away from the seaside and the Royal Pavilion, The House Restaurant is a cosy establishment spread over two floors in a converted Victorian house decorated with a modern vanilla and chocolate brown colour scheme. The food here is modern British, and specialties include beef Wellington and steak - customers come back again and again for the sirloin and fillet steaks, all tender, cooked to order and served with your choice of chunky chips or new potatoes. The extensive menu has something for everyone including, this being Brighton, a great range of vegetarian choices. Weather permitting (or even if it doesnt theres heating!), theres a lovely outdoor terrace set in a cobbled sheltered square in the south Lanes.
