We wandered in on a Saturday night, having not booked and they found us a table. We had a drink and browsed the menu whilst we waited for a table, which was quickly found for us. The food was absolutely beautifully presented and delicious. This truly is a veg friendly restaurant, with a choice of 3 thoughtful options - no... More

We visited this restaurant after a recommendation, otherwise I think it would be easy to miss this lovely little place. The restaurant itself is small with an eclectic style, the waiter friendly and efficient. We all had the two course option from the set menu. Starters were very generous portions. I had the chicken liver pate, lovely spicy chutney to... More

We accidentally came across this restaurant after a trip to the Brighton theatre - matinee performance. What a find! They were able to squeeze us in and we had a fabulous meal. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I had the grilled haloumi salad and my husband had the sea bream special. Both meals were really tasty... More

Have always overlooked this restaurant as tucked away in a corner and always seems to be somewhere else to eat. However after learning that its the sister restaurant to Chambers in Shoreham which we use whenever we are there we decided to try it and very pleased we did. Much bigger and brighter than we thought. They do a two... More

Have been to the house on many occasions, and every time it has been excellent, the food is beautifully presented and always delicious. It is a nice intimate restaurant and one that I have recommended to all my friends looking for somewhere nice to go with family or their partners

Great food. Great service. A real find as stumbled across this. £12 for two courses at lunch? What great value. And service with a smile - how rare. Recommended.

Went for a friends birthday and we were all blown away by the quality and flavours of the food. Presentation was spot on as were the cheerful and friendly staff. All in all one of the best restaurants I've visited in Brighton.

We visited Brighten for a day trip, it was my first time to Brighton. After being wowed by the lanes, and as me and my friend were hungry, We stumbled across this place, What a great stumble. We were greeted at the door, with a warm hello. The menu was absolutely Devine! Such a spectacular choice, and beautifully described. The... More

Just had one of the best meals at this restaurant. Every plate of food coming out the kitchen looked outstanding. We had the ocean fillet and gave us the best of both worlds, seafood and fillet steak. Couldn't ask for anything more and to top it off, the service was amazing, which made a perfect end to a lovely day.

Description
Nestled amongst Brightons famous Lanes, filled with bohemian cafes and boutiques, is The House Restaurant a favourite hang-out for Brighton's foodies. Located only minutes away from the seaside and the Royal Pavilion, The House Restaurant is a cosy establishment spread over two floors in a converted Victorian house decorated with a modern vanilla and chocolate brown colour scheme. The food here is modern British, and specialties include beef Wellington and steak - customers come back again and again for the sirloin and fillet steaks, all tender, cooked to order and served with your choice of chunky chips or new potatoes. The extensive menu has something for everyone including, this being Brighton, a great range of vegetarian choices. Weather permitting (or even if it doesnt theres heating!), theres a lovely outdoor terrace set in a cobbled sheltered square in the south Lanes.
