This is not your usual indian restaurant with the same old dishes, decor and background music! Seems to be aiming for a modern twist in its interior design and general vibe, which succeeds. However, it's the food which is the real star here - unique...dishes with wonderful flavours and textures. Even the popadums come with alternative dips to your normal mint sauce and mango chutney! The staff were all great too. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.More

This restaurant has a relatively restricted menu but the food is different from that found in other restaurants and is absolutely delicious! We all loved our meals: meat thali, vegetarian thali and chicken mammaji. The welcome was very warm and the service was good.

Fabulous quality food and decent portions. We couldn’t finish our main after the amazing sharing platter starter! This place came highly recommended and it didn’t disappoint.

Sensational restaurant! Food and service 5star! We loved the themed tables with beautiful Indian graffiti artwork on. The restaurant is full of colour, we also loved the reggae music, which was a lovely little twist on the night!

We had a very enjoyable dining experience at this well-known and highly regarded Indian restaurant in Brighton. It’s an unassuming, understated and casual affair, with pinks, oranges and yellows of a summer sunset setting the interior scene, and a brilliant turquoise blue of a summer’s...day at the beach dominates the exterior. You can’t miss the restaurant as you walk along East Street. The food is essentially southern Indian cuisine. We had a lovely dinner but here’s a few things to keep in mind: 1. The menu is not extensive: 7 or 8 starters, a dozen or so mains, and a few sides. 2. The mains are served ‘thali’ style, the Indian-style meal made up of a selection of dishes served on a round platter. 3. It’s quite expensive, with mains ranging from £18 to £28. The thali-style platter I had comprised one main dish of standard Indian restaurant size, a bowl of rice, a dollop of coleslaw and two small pots of chutney / raita. We started with a sharing platter (£16). It comprised three different items, such as pakoras and samosas, a bit of salad and a couple of chutneys. It was delicious, with a good balance of flavours, spices and fire. Our mains were the Lamb Mewari and the Mamaji Chicken platters (£18.50 each). They were full of flavour and packed a punch. We had a served of garlic roti to soak up the sauces. Wit a few drinks, the bill came to £77. The restaurant was very busy but service was reasonably efficient. Social distancing and mask-wearing were practiced. Tables were spaced with distance between them, or divided by clear screens. It’s certainly a restaurant we would return to.More

Beautiful surroundings, relaxing lighting. Staff very attentive, friendly and helpful, particularly with food allergy information. Had the lamb and it was so tender and delicious. My daughter had the biryani and thoroughly enjoyed that too. If I could give a million stars I would! Eat...here, you won't be disappointed.More

It was a treat to have dosas, although the pancakes were really too thick and filling for a starter. The Dahl was particularly delicious, so creamy and fragrant (almost as fragrant as me, but not quite) and I had meat for a change which was...*real* meat and not reconstituted, fantastic! The service was excellent although, having four different people serving us was a bit confusing. We would definitely go back. :)More

My partner and I visited Brighton last week and decided to have a Indian meal. I looked for good places to go and found Indian Summer. We were not disappointed, from the moment we two guys walked in, we were made very welcome. The staff...were friendly and very well informed. The food was beautifully spiced and presented very nicely. Great value for money a super night out. Would definitely go back in the future.More
