Can’t believe I’ve never sat down and reviewed this place as I’ve been coming here on a fairly regular basis over the last 20 years. Think the only thing that has changed is that there was a lick of paint applied around 2000 but it still seems like the same pub that I went into all those years ago, have... More

I visited here a few weeks ago with two friends to find a lot of the tables were reserved so we didn't end up staying but it had such a nice vibe to the place that when a friend suggested it as we walked past again I was more than happy to give it a go. We got a really... More

It has been a while since we visited the George, but we were not disappointed. Even though we were expecting it to be super busy on Mothers Day, we were pleased that there was no wait on meals when we arrived. The Nut roast and Falafel burger were massive but delicious. We sat in the sunny garden and my husband... More

We go to this pub after work on a Friday from time to time and it never fails to frustrate that 90% of the tables appear to be reserved. Is this a pub or a restaurant? The consequence is a number of empty tables with reserved signs promising occupation in 30 mins or so (so no point sitting down) and... More

Huge lunch but quantity triumphed over quality. Vegan option of roast lunch was extra potatoes to replace the Yorkshire pudding. We were not enjoying it anyway and then finding a long hair in my wife's food finished it for us.

After waiting an hour they gave half of our food to someone else. I think they need to review their ticketing system when its busy, table numbers would help having said that, when the food came it was absolutely delicious and i'd say arguably one of the best roasts i've had in Brighton. Delicious potatoes, veg and the lentil cheese... More

Absolutely love the food here. The chili dog is simply to die for! Whether you are veggie or not you need to give this place a go, you will be leaving full and happy. It can get a bit crowded in the evenings but it is definitely worth it.

As vegetarian eateries go, this place has got it right. It's not all about heavily processed meat substitutes, it's about creating favourite pub meals with a little twist. The battered halloumi and chips was a delight. Kitchen can be a little noisy so avoid sitting right next to it.

I have been frequenting this charming little boozer for some time now, I can honestly say I have never had anything less than a warm friendly welcome with outstanding service any day of the week. The food is incredible.
