Been there several times. Love the atmosphere in the pub section - really pub feeling, good food (good selection including vegan dishes), wine and beer. If you like the pub feeling either for drinks and food you stay down stairs, if you want service and a restaurant feeling, your go upstairs - lovely feeling as very cosy and are served... More

Quirky local with lots of different areas and nooks and crannies that makes it interesting. Great atmosphere. Restaurant is clearly very popular and we had a delicious roast lunch here. Recommend.

We turned up around 1ish and we're lucky to get a table. If u haven't visited before there is the main bar the few alcoves with tables and a restaurant part upstairs. We got a table downstairs where u order at the bar, food came out quick and was lovely! I have put up a pic of dinners we had... More

We are due to move to Hove in 10 days (an impulsive decision made 2 months ago) and discovered the Lion & Lobster a couple of weeks ago. We enjoyed a vast lunch there on the first visit and then today went back for a roast dinner. Hands down the best roast dinner I have ever had out. Portions are... More

The pub is great BUT the upstairs restaurant a real treat. It's like a Bohemian gentlemen's club with really good food but it's the quirky relaxed atmosphere I like best.

What a find, we are real foodies (including chefs and hoteliers!) and therefore quite particular. A great meal, true to its routes in being a pub but so restaurant quality dishes on the menu. We all only wanted a snack but the menu looked too good so we ate way more than we planned. Accommodating service, good atmosphere and lovely... More

Dropped in for a quick bite and had the fish and chips (of course). Nice local pub and reasonable prices

We'd been recommended this pub by a friend and it was very near our hotel. It has a 'proper pub' atmosphere, lots of character, friendly helpful staff and does an interesting menu (which we didn't try). Good range of ales - well worth a visit if you like 'pubs'!!

My partner and I visited last night, took a while to find it down the dark residential streets. From the outside it looks like any small back street pub. Inside the bar area was busy with a older crowd of well to do , I presume locals. The interior decor was shabby but full of character. We originally sat downstairs... More

first time visiting this pub as the last pub on our crawl, I loved it! Very pretty inside with all the fairly lights and the cool decorations. They had a late night food menu too and was very happy with the size portions. Great atmosphere and would visit again
