Great lunch try whatever they have for the sharing platter always spot on..probably doesn't need as much garlic on the chips, we scared all of the matinee cinema goers with our breath but we won't be seeing them again but will be going to Plateau...More

One of the best experiences we have had in Brighton - a locals place, with exquisite food and even though the place was jammed, excellent service. My wife had hake done to perfection, and I had a lamb dish that was unusual cuts of lamb...More

I booked this restaurant for the New Years Eve. Some friends come over from Italy, so we wanted to go to some good restaurant. After reading all the positive reviews about Plateau, I decide to booked. The dishes were tasty, well decorated. After paying so...More

This is a great place if your coming for a few cocktails, a delish glass of wine or a meal. It has a relaxed atmosphere. The service is professional and friendly not poncy. The menu is inventive and well presented with lots of flavour and...More

Thoroughly enjoyable every visit so far (4 x). Quite a limited menu but this does make choosing what to have a lot easier. Especially as it's all good stuff! Very cosy and the atmosphere is typically French but typically Brightonian too. Would definitely recommend!

Enjoyed the most delicious lunch of shoulder of lamb with borlotti beans sweet breads and braised lettuce. The lamb was deliciously succulent and melted in the mouth. My partner had salmon fillet with asparagus, mussels and jersey royals with an asparagus jus. Was delicious. We...More

And cocktails. Not cheap, but best combo of the 3 in Brighton. Nice for a date or something civilized. Good ambience location and product. Service excellent but not over your shoulders every 10 secs which is good.

You well think you're in Paris with the french owner and some staff. The cocktail bar makes some of the most delicious cocktails in Brighton while you wait for your table. Then be wowed by the extraordinary cuisines that can only be called French.

No better way than to end our first time in Brighton with a visit to this restaurant. We had found it on tripadvisor and pre-booked - good job we did as the place was very busy, in a good way. Great atmosphere and we were...More

Independent bar à vin, restaurant & cocktail bar based in The Lanes, BrightonWe are a unique bar à vin & restaurant with a passion for great food & wine. We have put a great deal of time & love into selecting our wines. At Plateau you can discover interesting & affordable wines that you are unlikely to see on other local wine lists. Our selection is mostly natural with some biodynamic & organic examples. We have sourced wines from local Sussex producers to renowned names & newcomers. To soak up the wine we serve ‘bites’, small dishes perfect to share or great as a starter. Follow your ‘bites’ with a ‘plateau’ to share or a 'plat' & that’s our dinner experience… although don’t forget dessert! Our chefs source organic, fresh, local produce as much as possible.Did we mention the cocktails? They’re probably the best in town & although we don’t serve Carlsberg we do serve some pretty imaginative beers from around the world. We have some top quality spirits, including some rare rum, whisky & cognac…and I almost forgot, keep an eye out for the ‘cocktail de la semaine’ & ‘beer of the moment’.There is no set way to visit Plateau, you can match the wine to the food or the food to the wine. Pop in just for a drink, a few bites or a three-course meal – the idea is that you do whatever suits you.
