Seriously amazing wedges so definitely recommend them to anyone! Also had a lovely smoothie. Very overpriced but I guess that's Brighton food... Perfect for vegetarians. It does what it says on the tin!

It can get a little busy. I went for lunch and was happy with my selection. I figure the available choices vary from day to day depending on what is cooked. All vegetarian selection. I thought the sit-down price was a little expensive, but I was happy with the serving size, the customer service and the atmosphere. Very casual. I... More

I go here a lot for lunch. The food overall is good. Sometimes the salads can be hit and miss but I suppose it's what you prefer. The one itch I have though is that in a lot of the salads they love to put raw red onion in them but unfortunately they put too much in. I don't mind... More

A must-go in Brighton. The food is fresh and very well spiced. The freshly made drinks are delicious, too. Even though I am normally not a vegetarian I always find something tasty. The staff is friendly and willing to help. Only the limited space inside the restaurant can pose a difficulty during lunch times.

Overpriced, poor service (waited 10min for two drinks!) and charged and served wrong items. Laughable really!

I have been here a lot over the years and used to love the food, but I had a very disappointing meal last week, basically way too much salt in the meal, my companions who had different things to me also reported high salt levels in the soup and another in the curry, also my food was very tired looking... One of my local favourites for breakfast, as its not too busy in the mornings and has a more interesting menu than many others. Excellent and friendly service.

I have walked past this place many times, it is always busy. I wondered why? Finally, I managed to eat here. I have to say is delicious. The food is excellent. Vegans and vegetarians eat your heart out here. Fab, tasty, wholesome food, good portions and reasonably priced. It really is worth a visit. Warning - it's always busy because... More

I came here for lunch with a good friend. I liked the food but not the slightly 'chippy' attitude of the staff. There is a good variety of hot and cold food. We chose a cheese, potato and leek pie and a curry, with the accompaniment of two salads and side dressings/toppings. This was all done quickly as it's self... More

We visited on a Sunday morning. As a non vegetarian, I would not have chosen to visit Iydea, for obvious reasons, and I admit I was not converted. We waited roughly 55 minutes for food, which is excessive for a small cafe. I ordered scrambled egg on toast which was edible and acceptably priced for what it was. The coffee... More

Iydea is a small and very busy express vegetarian canteen right in the heart of Brighton's North Laine area. All the food is freshly made and is on display so you can choose only what you want to go on your plate or to take away. There is an extensive breakfast menu from 9:30 every morning which changes to the lunch menu at 11:30 (12:00 Sundays). Iydea does get very busy and cramped so best to avoid peak times if you want a little more space and comfort.
