Sunday late lunch, not particularly busy, over an hour for the main course. Which when in arrived, a burger and chips, was awful. Dry bun, poorly cooked burger and chips cooked in old fat, chewier than those experienced in my Primary School in the late 1960s. Wrong bill presented to table, further errors on the revised bill...Bothered Jamie? Raking in... More

Decided to try Jamies as I loved 15 in New quay. Food was good, a little formulaic. My fritto misto starter was excellent but salad main a little vinegary as if malt vinegar was used when it should have been balsamic, but good value nonetheless, efficient unobtrusive waiting staff

Our second pre football match Saturday lunch visit. Very friendly and efficient staff. Excellent value for money. Lots of families with young children...nothing wrong with that, but needs to avoid getting stuck in a Giraffe type cul de sac which ends up only appealing to the fore mentioned. And look what's happened to Giraffe! The Veg and regular burgers are... More

We were looking forward to eating at Jamie's on a night out to Brighton. We were given a warm welcome when we arrived and were seated quickly and given our menus but had to wait quite a while to be offered drinks. Once we had ordered our food there was a long wait before the starter arrived, we weren't offered... More

This is the first time I've been to Jamie's and I've got to say that the service was really bad, we were forgotten about and the waitress was really apologetic, so got over that but the squid to start was like trying to get through a Goodyear and the Italian burger was possibly the worst burger I've ever had out.... The 2 course lunch set menu at £12 is good, there are a few options and are well sized for a lunch. This is only the second time I have been to Jaime's, the other being a dinner that I really thought was overrated. Today I really enjoyed lunch, the restaurant was much better than I remembered and the food... More

The staff were obviously busy but very friendly. The food was nice, not excellent but tasty enough. The only downside was the most uncomfortable chairs....I think they are called 20 minute chairs?! However 20 seconds was long enough for me and spoilt my meal. I wouldn't eat there again so I suppose that says it all!

Always a delight to eat here - excellent food - superb service regardless of how busy the restaurant is and such a unique atmosphere. The vegetarian options are always a delight as are the specials offered if you have a Gold card!!

Went for my birthday in August and it was extremely busy, pretty much full all night. However, the food was lovely and was served incredibly quickly considering how busy it was, the staff were rushed off their feet but were lovely, smiley and attentive and helpful nonetheless.

I like Jamie Oliver and have a number of his cook books but as much as I try to like Jamie's I always am disappointed with how average the whole experience is. I've eaten at this branch and the ones in Bath and Portsmouth and felt the same at each. The food in Portsmouth was dire and had to be... More

Description
JAMIE'S ITALIAN BRIGHTON A partnership between Jamie Oliver and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo, Jamie's Italian has won thousands of fans for its delicious and affordable food since launching their first restaurant in Oxford in May 2008. The Jamie's Italian menu is based on dishes you'd find people eating all over Italy, made with care but delivered without fuss. The family-friendly restaurants are all about serving up rustic, Italian food made using the best possible ingredients, plus fresh pasta that's made on-site every day, and an award-winning children's menu, too. The lovely Brighton restaurant is located on Black Lion Street, a stone's throw from the seafront, nestled within Brighton's famous Lanes. The rooftop terrace is a great spot to enjoy a drink and a bowl of our freshly made pasta or a burger after a trip to the beach, or relax in one of the cosy booths and watch the chefs at work in their beautiful open kitchen. There's something for everyone here, whatever the occasion - a quick bite with friends or a big family dinner - come in and soak up the atmosphere while you tuck into some delicious Italian food.
