Great light lunch of seafood. The wine list is extensive and the choice of food very attractive. The setting is very pleasant and the staff competent and knowledgeable. I am a fairly frequent visitor and am never disappointed.

I managed to steer my wife to this restaurant partly because it looked ok and had reasonable reviews but also because it was close to a busking spot which was a high point of our visit to Brighton. We had bread to share with mackerel...More

Very disappointing. Ordered traditional fish and chips. The fish was terrible, the batter very under cooked. The manager did take money off the bill but I don't want money off, all I want is decent well cooked food. Unlikely we will go back as on...More

As a local resident, I don't write this review lightly. Yet this was the worst meal my wife and I have ever had in Brighton. I can forgive the chipped glass and, to a lesser extent, the bones in the mackerel pate. But rank smelling,...More

The service is too slow here...lunch took hours to complete. We live in Brighton and would choose Riddle & Finn over English's.

We came here as part of the Brighton Food Tour and it was a great spot to try our first ever Oysters. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgable and the food is great. A must visit in Brighton for any seafood lover!

Nice restaurant, with good food, but indeed when you seat at the table, look at the menu and related prices, you might expect more... At the end you cannot say anything bad, but even nothing really good
