How is Church House Inn rated?

My husband and I ate here while visiting family in the village. It is quite the most atmospheric and delightful old pub I have been in for a very long while. There were 2 wood burning stoves, making the place lovely and cosy, candles on...all the tables and pretty lights above the bar. Service was excellent and the staff very welcoming. My husband had the pork dish and I had the chicken tikka masala. Both were very tasty, as were our puds of fruit crumble and custard, and peppermint ice cream. All in all it was a lovely evening and we shall definitely return.More

Just Perfect

It’s been a while since we've visited the Church House Inn, so decided to go for a meal last Saturday night and they didn't disappoint, the food was superb, the service was perfect and there was a relaxed ambience inside, clearly, they care about the...quality of the food they serve and the comfort of their dining guests, it was refreshing to go somewhere that was more interested in value than shoehorning diners into every available space. If you're looking for good quality food served in a stress-free environment please visit this pub, we are certainly going back.More

Fascinating pub.

We came on this wonderful old pub purely by chance and consider ourselves very fortunate. This is a fascinating old building in a beautiful location and the service, staff and beer just perfect and we look forward to returning soon.

Fabulous evening meal

Went for a meal as we are staying nearby, what a fabulous and interesting pub . Ancient , set next to the church , this is such an unusual pub , it’s a delight to visit . The staff are friendly and then you move...onto the food . Delicious and freshly cooked . Such a great experience, would highly recommendMore

Charming Pub Off the Beaten Track

A wonderful pub full of history, charm, great food and excellent service. It sits next to 13th century St. Andrew's church and its cemetery. You will not pass by Harberton on your travels so a specific side trip is required and is well worth the...time.More

Wonderful find

A rainy Wednesday afternoon we were driving looking for somewhere we could eat undercover and there it was! The staff were very welcoming and very attentive. The menu is very good and the food gastronomic quality. I did go inside to visit the toilets as...we were unable to sit inside due to covid restrictions. Its tastefully furnished and all was very clean. Heartily recommend.More

Wonderful

Another wonderful village pub. 13th century with magnificent beams and panels. Log fires. Excellent Sunday roast. Charming waitress and waiter the latter who gallantly came to the rescue with a glass of water when my wife had a choking fit.

A really good Sunday lunch.

The pub is very well run with friendly staff. The food was fantastic and service very good. Definitely worth a visit.

Superb Sunday lunch

Visited this lovely pub several times recently for Sunday lunch. Excellent food & friendly hospitality. Fantastic log fires making it cosy & warm on a cold wet February lunchtime. Highly recommended.

Valentine's Dinner

What an absolute gem!! we were recommended this little pub by family with tales of brilliant food and great hospitality. We were not disappointed. This was a fantastic experience, the food was excellent!! the staff were great!! and the pub itself was old, warm, cosy...and welcoming. If you want to try something a little different then venture out this awesome pub! We loved it and will be back!:)More
