We have been going here for some years when we are in the area, after a long walk we look forward to a nice cup of coffee and one of the homemade cakes they do. We have always been very pleased with this café.

Food ok, friendly staff but very smokey! Hard to breathe, no ventilation whatsoever! Sorry, I'm not coming again for that very reason!More

Sorry about the smokey atmosphere! It can get a bit tricky in the winter months - the balance between letting in freezing cold fresh air and keeping the place toasty and warm with the log burner. But we're happy that you liked the food and...More

This is a brilliant little independent cafe with great food and drinks as well as friendly service. Just yards from the castle entrance, it's a must visit spot for a sit down and relax.

Hello we used to be frequent customers with the previous owners and so enjoyed the Sunday roast. Do you offer this? We were looking to book a table for 10 on Sunday if this was possible. We are a bit disapointed to read the unfavourable reviews regarding the lack of acknowledgement and poor customer service on the "meet and greet". I do hope you have managed to iron out this problem- it is as important to make people feel welcome of they won't be bothered to stay for the fab food. Look forward to a response. Marie

May I ask a question? we will be taking the train in from Bath to the Totnes station. Will take a taxi from the station to the castle, then visit the cafe. Do you feel it would be difficult to get a taxi to return us to the station? it seems the castle is a bit isolated from town. Thanks for your advice.
