We had the full tasting menu, the food was beautifully presented and tasted as amazing as it looked. The front of house staff explained each dish, I loved the fact that some of the food was foraged and all local. The atmopshere was lovely and...the restaurant was full, I love that you can see Chef's working in the kitchen. I would highly recommend Gather, it was a fantastic experience for us, having never eaten a tasting menu before and not knowing what to expect, I'd definitley go again!More

Visited Gather and had the tasting menu and the wine pairing. Every dish is clearly well thought out and combines food and tastes that are considered and put together with great pride and presented with a clear explanation about the ingredients and what we are...supposed to taste. The restaurant is quite small plainly decorated with lighting that was much to bright. Now, I may have a sense of taste that is not as discerning as others, but I didn’t want to ‘wow’ at anything I put in my mouth, which was disappointing. It was all as it the food was part of a culinary science experiment and we were testing the results. The presentation was efficiently carried out but in a rather rote sterile way. The wine paring was very good, although £45 for five very small wines and a saki, was probably a bit steep. For me eating out should be pleasurable and whilst we expected something different, it somehow will fell short and all felt a bit of a let down for us. I guess the bill for a tasting menu was ok at £200 for two, but would I go back? Probably not.More

We enjoyed a relaxed evening of carefully crafted dishes. Each dish was beautifully prepared with locally sourced ingredients. I think some items were foraged. We enjoyed every bite. Good wine. Very pleasant staff.

Great food offering quality over quantity - lots of attention to detail. It was quiet when we visited as it was midweek lunch but this meant we weren’t rushed and food took a good amount of time to be served. We will return in a...bigger group with our foodie friends, thanks guys!More

We had the half tasting menu. It’s the second time I’d been and I hadn’t been very impressed the first, so really tried to come with an open mind! Food: Crab starter was very tasty. Lamb with wild garlic and fricassee, incredible, one of the...best dishes I’ve had in ages. Cheese course wasn’t amazing, just seemed like a bit of ok cheese and a cheese straw with it. Milk pudding was incredible. Pairing wines and drinks: Really excellent pairings, not just wine, umeji, and an amazing cocktail. Service: Although very polite, the serving staff just weren’t switched on, kept bringing the wrong things to people, didn’t bring us water, kept forgetting drinks, and just seemed quite confused. All in all, a really delicious meal, bar some very minor things. I just think they need some more experienced front of house staff. I live locally and I’d go back again with the hope it’ll keep improving.More

I came with friends who have been before and raved about this restaurant and wow were they right! Lovely, friendly waiters,very knowledgeable and right for the style of great food but relaxed. The tasting menu of the month was exceptional,every course brought beautiful flavours, perfectly...cooked and put together, incredible flavours,hard to know which was best! The bread and chicken skin butter started the meal and I knew it would be a great meal! If only I could buy the pain au raise!! Well see be all, I will be telling everyone to go here,can't wait to visit again, you deserve alot of praise!More
