Was the office Christmas Lunch. Wanted something tasteful that would suit the age range and likes of all, not disappointed. Excellent food, service and for time year quite reasonable. Would recommend without hesitation.

Service excellent but sadly was not impressed with the food, maybe my expectations were to high! I found the food very bland especially the trout starter.

Sorry that you didn’t have your expectations met when dining with us. If you had let us know on the day may be we could have helped rectify the situation but alas now is too late.

Left it a while to revisit this restaurant, but standard is as good as always. Superb meal, reasonably priced for the quality, well deserving of its Michelin star. Well worth a visit.

My husband and I had the Valentines set menu, which was good value for money in my opinion. The bread and oil was lovely, the sweet onion soup was delicious (wasn’t too fussed on the coffee foam on top but that’s just my preference) and...More

Torquay really isn’t the hub of fine dining, many try to emulate the quality, some try to push for the accolades the elephant receive.. but fail, so to all those I say this, simon Hulstone is the epitome of Michelin, tucked away in the south...More

The Elephant is a bright, informal restaurant which overlooks the beautiful Torbay harbour. It was the first restaurant in Torquay to be awarded a Michelin star which it maintains today. We aim to source all our ingredients locally and sustainably, many from our dedicated farm in Brixham. Please feel free to ask our front of house team about anything you are unsure of. Run by chef proprietor, Simon Hulstone and his wife Katy. Food is cooked by a talented team of chefs and served by friendly, professional team of staff. Diners can enjoy a delicious à la carte menu and set menus featuring local and sustainable fish, meat and vegetables, sourced from the surrounding area, in an informal and attractive setting. For an extra special culinary treat opt for the tasting menu. Expect friendly and knowledegable service without the formalities. All our dishes change regularly depending on which locally grown and reared (many sourced from our dedicated farm) ingredients are at their best.
