Had a fantastic lunch. As two of us were coming over on the water taxi from mountbatten, my mum popped in and managed to reserve a table at very short notice. Grilled haddock, Grilled plaice and prawn sandwiches were ordered. All arrived with minimal wait. The fish was beautifully grilled and succulent. The sandwiches had so many prawns in they... More

Well placed in the Barbican, parking is quite difficult in front of restaurant, but the place has a good ambiance. I wish the food tasted nicer, it was ok. Seafood choices were many, but didn't deliver on taste. We've been here three times, and still not matched other similar seafood restaurants nearby.

I went for lunch on a Saturday with a friend. Unfortunately there are not so many restaurants open after 2,30 in Plymouth so we decided to to to Platters without looking on Tripadvisor but knowing that waterfront restaurants can be at risk. The restaurant was empty and there was a sort of bad smell. I had a clam chowder that... More

Fancied fish and chips for lunch but wanted to sit in somewhere so tried Platters for the first time - we will certainly be going back. Shared a whitebait starter, haddock and chips for me, cod and chips for him plus a beer and a cider all for £34. Really good fish and chips with lovely batter (not greasy at... More

This is a must stop everytime my wife and I visit out UK friends. One of my favorite items on the menu is their fish stew. The stock is tasty and is also loaded with bits of the local seafood. The fish and chips are excellent, as is the crab salad. Certainly not a fancy place, and the booths are... More

The food was nice but the restaurant lacked atmosphere especially for a Saturday night. Service could be more professional

Stopped in the takeaway section whilst enjoying a stroll around the Barbican. The chips were the best I have ever had. Regret not going here before. Had onion rings which were huge they were lovely though.

I eat here often, always good. My wife doesn't particularly like it, so when she had prawn and crab salad for Boxing Day lunch, it only confirmed her worst fears. The minute prawns were barely unfrozen and the crab out of a tin. She complained at the £12.95 dish but was told it would be more expensive if fresh and... More

Well situated on the Barbican. Delightful small restaurant serving local fresh fish with daily special catch. Prompt service by very efficient and friendly staff. Wine list a bit limited
