Although a gale was blowing outside the welcome was very warm and friendly. We had a wonderfully relaxed evening in this most unusual of restaurants. Food was top notch - attention given to complimentary flavours and presentation. A good first visit and we will be...More

Five of us visited, with the small venue almost filled in the week before Xmas, and we enjoyed it so much: relaxed, comfortable, being small it was not too noisy or intrusive, and the cooking was so delicious! All of us said that it was...More

I was here for a meal on a weekend getaway with two friends. Lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent - all three courses. Very good value for money. Recommended for anyone visiting and not wanting to have to eat at a mundane chain restaurant...More

We visited on a dark rainy Saturday November evening- the wood burner making the room warm and toasty. It’s a tiny restaurant with truly personal service - our waitress was new and utterly charming. The chef patron came out to chat at the end of...More

This is one of the best restaurants I have eaten in recently and is definitely Michelin Star quality in my opinion - it is better than some I have eaten in which are Star rated. Every course we had was top quality and the mushroom...More

......that’s the word I would use to describe everything about this place, starting with the service: a warm welcome, followed by just the right level of attention and a thorough knowledge of the menu. A taster of a mushroom soup with a drizzle of truffle...More

Yes, very close. If you are staying or parking at Royal William Yard you can walk it in 5 minutes. There are a few spaces in the road just opposite if you need really close, but the walk is a nice one.
