Went with hubby, son, daughter in law and 4 grandchildren for an evening meal. We were made most welcome. The service was second to none and the food was delicious. Would definitely go again.

Had a family meal here, have been before a couple of years ago, management has changed and for the better. Nice range on the menu, price ok. The place was not very busy but the food was generally ok to good for pup grub, I was a bit disappointed with the scallops, as they were more like chicken nuggets, but... More

Went seeking usual out-of-season quiet lunch with friends, and this was ideal except for the closing at 1500 hours, but we relocated to the garden with ample drinks and stayed till after half-past four jawing & enjoying the late summer sun. We all opted for the battered whiting and it was really good with light, well-drained crunchy batter. Mushy-pea jus... More

Have been here a few times now and the last 2 times there was a limited menu. The food was not the best. The chips were salty I prefer to add my own if I want it. My burger was slightly pink. We asked for a pint of unchilled ale it was chilled.

Nice looking pub but one or two things let it down. Wife ordered the Vegetable Stack from the specials board and was served with the smallest meal we've ever seen in a restaurant. Had they run out of ingredients? Was it a surprise someone ordered it? either way it was poor. My burger was good though. Then we waited and... More

Ate at the Mussel inn for the first time in years. When we arrived it was very quiet. We had deep fried Camembert to start. This was nice but obviously from a packet. I then had Linguine which was bland & my partner had gammon which he said was ok. We didn't have a sweet as the choice was limited.... More

We have eaten here three times since it reopened under new management and on two of these occasions the service and food was excellent, though the sweets were a little pricey. We visited again last weekend and it was not quite to the same standard. Because we had a young child with us we booked a table for 6.00 pm.... More

Went to the mussel last night and we had belly pork, veggie soup followed by homemade pork and apple pie and chicken bourguignon ,too full for dessert! The food was excellent and we both said it was amongst the best food we had eaten out. The service was really attentive and we were both made to feel really welcome and... More

Tried this pub after many years as it looked appealing after driving by. Had a sirloin steak - £18. The worst I've had - Luke warm and very tough. Was told the restaurant was booked up,although not many there at 7.30 and being seated near the kitchen could hear the chef stressing out. When will restaurants learn to put side... More

We went to the Mussel Inn on a recommendation from a member of our party. A nice early reservation in an empty pub so shouldn't have been a problem with getting great service... From the outset we had to ask to place our orders as no one came to us. The starters arrived minus one, which arrived 5 minutes later... More
