I have to admit that the decor is poor. Think 1980's hippy student chic. satin and silk drapes on the ceilings and walls hiding a multitude of sins, multicoloured leather bean bags and the obligatory morrocan lanterns and shisha pipes. But in secret I like it. Not because it's cheap and cheerful, but because it denotes the fact that there's... More

Came here as a large group for a birthday party. We had the whole of the upper area, at no additional charge which was great. We ordered mezze type sharing food, which was great value and good for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Friendly, efficient service.

I had a terrible experience last night. The shisha lounge was small, cold, poorly furnished and is simply a balcony with horseshoe deck. It is too close to the dining area and with no privacy at all. Worst of all is the owner ... so called Riza. Rude is the mildest way to describe him. He made us feel unwelcome... More

Prompt service and reasonable prices. Tagine very Cinnamony. Staff ok. Steep steps and loo is downstairs only. Not super impressed.

Me and my girlfriend came here a few weeks back and had a set menu mixed grill for two, it was amazing if a little massive! They bring out a starter tray of tzatziki, hummus, bread and baba ganoush which is enough to half fill you, followed by an enormous tray of mixed meats in two very large flatbreads, to... More

Have lived in the area for years, finally decided to take some visitors to try the restaurant. So glad we did. Very busy Saturday night, our table was not quite ready but we were offered drinks and a menu whilst we waited. Lead to table after only 10 mins. Great position for the evening on the first floor overlooking the... More

Welcome to Al-Farid Mezz Bar & RestaurantUmar ibn ‘Al-Farid’ was an Arab poet, his poetry is entirely suffic ,and he was esteemed mystic poet of the Arabs. Our head chef has created a thoughtful menu that delights the taste buds. A firm favourite is the mezze, an array of small succulent dishes. The mezze comprised both cold and hot dishes and offers a wealth of colour flavour, texture and aroma. An attribute of Moroccan food is the fact that is healthy as well as tasty and filling.A choice of traditional Moroccan dessert is an offer to complements the meal, expect Baklava a sweet pastry, and Mhallableyh, rice pudding with rose water. Also the drink menu is Moroccan national drink, Arak, which has an aniseed base, and a variety of fruit juices. To finish your meal you cannot miss out on one of our Moroccan coffee, flavoured wit natural cardamom, cinnamon or rose water. No bona fide Moroccan meal complete without smoking an authentic hooka pipe. Each day the water pipes are packed with fresh flavoured tobaccos, choose between apples, strawberry, cherry, rose, grape or fruit cocktail.
