Had a good meal at Ask in Exeter today. Lovely surroundings and great staff. The Cathedral Close is always beautiful even with the poor old Clarence Hotel in ruins after the fire.

Another visit to this lovely restaurant, sat upstairs again with my partner.... They really know how to set the scene, candles everywhere, a truly lovely atmosphere!! We shared Muscles to start which were lovely and the massive calzone mains. Highlight of the night was defiantly the mount etna dessert... Service was great, food was great, building is beautiful... Will defiantly... More
I visited this restaurant in early March hoping to have lunch there. As there were no staff free to show me to a table I found one myself, checked with a couple nearby that it was free and sat down to wait for my husband. After several minutes of being completely ignored a very rude waiter came up and told... More
Went on a Saturday night with my daughter. Luckily as there were only 2 of us we got a table. It is probably advisable to book in advance. The restaurant is in a beautiful old building which gives the place a lot of character. The pasta was particularly good. The service was fast, perhaps a little too fast as we... More
This ask is situated by the cathedral in a good location and the building is a really nice, old tudor style. Greeted with free drinks and very attentive staff. Had seafood pasta with lobster and crab etc in it for mains and garlic bread for starter which all arrived promptly, Chocolate desert was amazing too. My mum enjoyed her tortellini... More
ASK is located on the Exeter Cathedral Green. The building is attractive and it is decorated tasteful way. I went in for lunch with some work colleagues for a minor celebration. The staff was great. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. I had my favourite pizza (calzone) which was delicious. A great value option for a lunch.
After several times visiting ASK and enjoying the meal, it's unhappy to write about a less than good experience - hopefully it's a one-off. First, the staff were very obliging getting me and my scooter up a step and to the table. We were a pre-Chirstmas gathering of 8, and had opted for the "2 from 3" festive menu. And... More
Visited Ask on 14 February at lunchtime. We hadn't made a booking. When we arrived, we were asked for our names but explained we hadn't booked and wondered if they had a table. The waiter, didn't even speak to us, picked up two menus walked over to a spare table for two plonked the menus down then walked off. Nothing... More
Nice location and good atmosphere however my main course was bland and tasteless (carbonara). My boyfriend had the New pollo prosciutto which was very nice. Waitress didn't check on us or ask how food was afterwards. Mount etna for desert was lush, highly recommended.
