We stopped here for dinner. The place is nice and clean and warm on what was a very cold day. The girl serving was lovely and really friendly. The food was good. All that came in seemed happy to be there. The pub is very dog friendly which I think people really appreciated. I would say it is a very... More

We met with friends for a few days holiday in St Mawes and chose to eat the Idle Rocks Hotel on our first night. I love the "seaside" themed décor and the sea views - chairs and tables are placed so that everyone has a view of the sea and the harbour. Food was excellent all round and service was... More

Lovely lunch on the terrace on the last warm day in late October. Friendly courteous staff, tasty food, best views in town.

We sat in the bar area and only had starters but the staff were exceedingly friendly and attentive . Would definitely recommend we didn't sit outside as it was a bit blustery but there were quite a few tables out there and would definitely recommend visiting here if you are nearby

We were resident in the hotel and have rated it as Excellent. However we did have issues with service at lunch and when we wanted drinks on the terrace. There was one waitress who was extremely dour and the one who appeared to be in charge hasn't a clue. This is such a shame when you consider the standard of... More

We ate here on one of our 3 nights in St Mawes. The restaurant was much better than expected. Great food and service.

Single gin and tonic £6 quite expensive but they must have the best views in gorgeous St Mawes.A very classy place with charming staff.

Visited recently with friends for a drink before we moved on. Service was slightly slow for 4 drinks and i was slightly concerned when people were entering the bar to meet friends who were on the terrance that a member of staff was being very confrontational with visitors almost acting like a gate keeper. However the decor is nice and... More

Severely disappointed in our experience here at idle rocks today, expecting a fun atmosphere in such a pleasant setting we where horrified by the treatment we received. We came in for lunchtime cocktails and where made to feel so extremely unwelcome by the staff and owner, we were forced to leave. After overhearing the bar staff being questioned on how... More
