Like all Vintage Inns, The Cheshire Cat has a lot going for it - a spacious but cosy interior, a great menu, a lot of tasty food, and friendly staff. I always enter with high hopes of a 5 star visit - but something always...More

The jungle drums are beating in Chester “the Cheshire Cat has a vegan menu!” - we thought we would try. The result was - a good start. So rare to get a choice that I tend to add a star for that. Good friendly service...More

Called for a late Sunday Lunch, as had been here before, and was nice last time. Arrived at about 1700, not particularly busy. Had to wait over an hour for 1 starter (bowl of soup). Waitress forgot drinks. Main courses took even longer. They were...More

Sorry that you feel this way Alex, we will look into what happened on the Sunday so that it won't happen again. We hope this does not stop you from visiting in the future, as we hope to see you again. Thank you

Popped in for an early dinner. Had the burger, no surprise there, I’m a huge burger fan.. I had the Angus burger, which was average. Single piece of thin cheese (I appreciate you can add more) but I’m a stickler for blue cheese, which I...More

We chose this pub/hotel for its great location and stayed 2 nights, located on the side of the canal and a lovely 50 minutes walk to the centre of Chester. Our room was basic but more than adequate for us. The free complimentary continental breakfast...More

On our way to Liverpool we called in for a spot of lunch. I have passed this pub so many times but have never tried it before. I was not disappointed. The pork was tasty and the vegetables were perfect

Ordered chicken pie. Lovely crisp pastry but hardly any filling. Vegetables were over cooked and obviously had been in the rack for far too long. Couldn’t eat the vegetables and nothing in the pie. Very disappointing.
