Cracking boozer, especially if you like real ale. Didn't eat here although food on the next table looks the dog knackers. Bang on.

A great selection of ales, lovely reasonable priced food. Food different from the usual pub fare and all of us enjoyed our meals. Best of all was the people serving. A place to go back to.

We visited at lunch time and were not disappointed. There was an interesting menu which was good, not the usual pub grub. There were some good beers available and both the beer and food were really good. It is an historical place and and a...More

I went here with my wife for my birthday celebrations. I had the ox heart. My wife had the chicken dish. Mine was fantastic. We also had rioja wine. Which was also excellent. Overall a great meal.

We ate here while visiting Chester. This pud is within an old medieval hall which makes for a unique and unusual setting. The food was top quality pub food, not the pretentious boutique type. Excellent range of craft beers on tap. The pie and pint...More

To be honest, conventional is not really their thing. Don't let that put you off though. You can have a Sunday Roast any Sunday you want. You can't always try and enjoy the great food and beer that is served here!
