Been looking forward to this visit for months. We had a bit of sketchy start, felt a bit intimidated and then the champagne trolley trundled over ( like a throw back to the 70's?) while I was looking at the wine bible they had handed me... Some of the wines in this encyclopaedia were more than I earn in a... More

Wow, what an incredible experience it is to dine at the Midsummer House - even in Midwinter! The menu is perfectly constructed and balanced with some theatre thrown in for good measure. We had the five course option which is incredibly good value, as the meal unfolds for you in a luxurious fashion. So nice not to be rushed or... More

Incredible dining experience. Our seven course dinner offered flavours of all varieties, paired with delicious and unique wine. Highly recommended.

Four of us went for lunch as a pre-Christmas treat. We decided on the eight course tater menu, as opposed to the five course. All on the table have to have the same menu. There were some items that I would never have chosen if I was choosing individual items from a menu, for example, scallops and venison. I have... More

We went to Midsummer House on the first night of opening this year. What an incredible experience! I have some very firm favourite meals from around the world, some of them 2 and 3 star; this was easily a match for any of them. My wife and I are very close to the due date of our first child so... Excellent experience and amazing range of different tastes. A little disappointed with the flight of wines.

We were taken as guests to Midsummer House for a post-Christmas celebration. Not our first visit, but the sheer effort of the chefs and waiting staff shines through like a beacon. Absolutely glorious, mouth-watering, delicate flavours and a wine list you want to spend the rest of your life working through. A quirky environment...but then, that's Cambridge. Eight courses to... For all it's plaudits and pomp, there are better and more enjoyable places to eat and celebrate. If you want to eat twiddly bits with foam and smoke, then that's what you'll get, but is the taste experience really worth it?

This is out favourite restaurant and we eat at a lot of restaurants. The food is to die for and the flight of wines is spectacular. The service is next to none but the atmosphere is relaxed. We will be back again soon !

Description
With its divine location right on the River Cam, Midsummer House is among East Anglias best restaurants. Once youve finished punting down the river and taking in the sights and sounds of the beautiful university city of Cambridge, pay Midsummer House a visit. Relaxed and elegant, with a sunny conservatory and perfect al fresco dining for warm summer evenings, this modern British restaurant offers a wide range of creative dishes with a sophisticated touch learned by Chef Patron Daniel Clifford throughout his years in Britain and Frances best restaurants. Passionate about ingredients, Clifford even uses the harvest from Midsummer Houses own 80 year old apple trees in his cookery.
