No visit to Cambridge is complete without lunch at The famous Eagle pub. Famed for the DNA pronouncements by Crick and Watson and the Spitfire pilots signatures on the ceiling, this great pub has a good atmosphere and great staff. There are a number of cosy rooms to enjoy the excellent food and drink - the DNA is an excellent... More

Classic historic English pub in the heart of town oozing character and charm. Very good pub food available and served in large portions. Thanks for the vote if you found this review helpful.

An iconic spot to visit. Self service to order food, then allow time to wander the entire property to educate yourself on the various historical aspects of this establishment. Well worth the visit.

We popped into The Eagle for a Monday lunch. I had sausages and mash and mum had the fish and chips. We have been before a while ago, and I had liver and bacon that time, which was equally good. We found it easy to find a table, because it was Monday, but usually it is heaving. Having said that,... More

Was invited along to The Eagle by friends also visiting Cambridge, based on its history (Watson & Crick announcing their discover of DNA here in 1953). The pub itself is cosy and charming, with many historical artefacts around the place. Their in house brew "DNA" was alright, and the menu offers a good range of typical British style pub meals.... Old, nostalgic pub full of history, especially from Second World War. The GIs from USA used this pub and signed their names on the ceiling when going on raids. Worth a visit as food is good too.

After an awful experience in a pub nearby, we managed to get a table in The Eagle, despite been full of people. We placed our order at the bar, and the waiter (a guy with a tattoo on his chest) was very helpful, lovely and professional! We were served our drinks straight away and the food arrived after few minutes.... More

Loads of history, from RAF Pilots burning messages into the ceiling to Watson & Crick announcing that they've discovered DNA.

We came in on a cold day and where served by a very nice gentleme. We gave our orders at the bar and got served. The entourage is really cool as history is all over the place. The celebration of discovering DNA to WW1 and WW2 veterans leaving their signatures and story`s on the ceiling and walls. The whole place... More
