As a post natal treat my friend & I enjoyed afternoon tea in the relaxed atmosphere of the Hotel Du Vin. It felt like we were treated as royalty with Dani being accommodating, knowledgeable & professionally attentive. I would highly recommend the Du Vin experience to anyone.

This is a great venue if you want to spend a relaxing evening in the bar and resturant but is also good for business meetings too. You can chat in the spacious bar area with a wide choice of wines and other drinks to choose from. The bar and the resturant are always busy enough so that you can chat... More

I rarely give 5 stars and I'm sure that I could pick fault in something, however this was a superb afternoon tea. Good service, pleasant atmosphere. Very interesting and varied afternoon tea including savouries, scones and sweet items. Not too many sandwiches which is pretty probably a good thing as they can go dry. Excellent. Nice gin and tonic to... More

We are fans of the uniqueness of the Hotel du Vin so to celebrate an anniversary we booked lunch. Unfortunately we experienced a few 'kitchen' issues. We didn't want to spoil our day by complaining, but the restaurant manager was observant enough to notice and went way beyond what was required to ensure we enjoyed our celebration. Thank you very... Hotel du Vin is consistently good, with an interesting and well-executed menu, friendly and professional service (including a proper sommelier who can recommend wine), and a buzzy bistro feel that never gets too noisy. The bar is also delightful.

What was once one of Bristol’s finest is now possibly inferior to a Cote Brasserie. But at least in a Cote chain you know what you’re going to get and the staff are well trained.. Here we had three table waiters/resses fumbling over glasses of Kir not knowing what it was or how to make it. Kir Royale is on... More

Visited Hotel du Vin Bristol having dined there a few years ago When I had a first class, outstanding dining experience and equally on a recent trip to HDV Edinburgh. However Saturday evening was far from first class - it was worse than third class! Firstly the drinks took a while to come, ordered Prosecco by the glass which they... More

I took my wife to the Hotel Du Vin for a meal last night and left feeling fairly underwhelmed. It was a strange experience as the Hotel and Restaurant itself is very nice but the food was distinctly average. My Wife had Tiger Prawns for Starters, I had Scottish Smokies Chowder and then we both had Fillet Steaks. My Wife’s... More

We booked to come here for my sister's fiftieth and weren't disappointed. The service was excellent and on hearing it was a special birthday they gave her a glass of champagne and after the meal a desert plate piped in chocolate 'happy birthday' with several truffles for us all. It was a lovely touch and added to the celebrations that... More

Description
The Bistro restaurant at the Hotel Du Vin, Bristol is part of a Grade II listed warehouse building dating back to the 1700s. The traditional style seen in the appearance of the building is also reflected in the Bistro’s menu, although a contemporary edge is also given to array of European cuisine on offer, with simple classic dishes shifting seasonally and head chef Marcus Lang providing his own unique recipes each day. Opened in 1999, the Bistro restaurant welcomes diners seven days a week for lunches and dinners consisting of the finest in local produce (see the self explanatory yet carefully created Land, Sea and Local Menu). You might also enjoy sampling the restaurant’s bountiful and eclectic wine list.
