My husband and I brought various family members to celebrate my 50th birthday. As I like the main restaurant area, I did not request one of the private rooms for our group of eight. We had aperitifs beforehand then shown to our table, in one...More

Another friendly professional greet from bar staff mariam and Marc and Tyler. However This level of excellence is taken up a notch when a staff member called Duane introduces his talents..🙈 I would highly recommend a hot chocolate for any social or business meeting. The...More

Lovely rooms and very helpful staff are the high points of this hotel. The location is convenient to the center of Bristol. Food is good but avoid the afternoon tea which is expensive and a bit sad. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. One last thing,...More

We celebrated my birthday here and would highly recommend it. We had the Sunday lunch 4 course menu, and whilst none of the four of us wanted the mushroom soup first course (more soup options would be good), that was the only slight blemish on...More

We love Hotel du Vin but this offering was not up to scratch. It was stodgy and unimaginative. We have experienced a similarly priced tea at The Ivy in Bristol and the two experiences are poles apart. For the £22.50 price you get a plate...More

A friend and I met for dinner here and although I hadn't eaten at the HdV for a couple of years, I was delighted to find that the formula was still as good as it had been on my many previous visits. Well cooked food,...More

Booked in using the special offer whereby you get the room at a knock down price if you spend over £75 in the restaurant. Had a lovely pre dinner cocktail in the bar followed by a fantastic meal. Service was excellent and very attentive. Had...More

Family celebration but lack of any furnishing to absorb sound meant couldn't hear person across the table. Great wine list but some pages in such small type impossible to read given the lighting. Mains are offered with no significant vegetables and so venison and game...More

Came here with my partner for a night away from home. We stayed in the loft mezzanine suite ( pommery room) and we could not have been happier. The food in the restaurant as always was on fine form and the service was excellent. The...More

Booked this over the internet with events coordinator Caroline, it all went smoothly from start to finish! It was a family occasion (10 people) and I wanted one of the private dining rooms, this was easily organised and I was advised from the beginning of...More

Description
The Bistro restaurant at the Hotel Du Vin, Bristol is part of a Grade II listed warehouse building dating back to the 1700s. The traditional style seen in the appearance of the building is also reflected in the Bistro’s menu, although a contemporary edge is also given to array of European cuisine on offer, with simple classic dishes shifting seasonally and head chef Marcus Lang providing his own unique recipes each day. Opened in 1999, the Bistro restaurant welcomes diners seven days a week for lunches and dinners consisting of the finest in local produce (see the self explanatory yet carefully created Land, Sea and Local Menu). You might also enjoy sampling the restaurant’s bountiful and eclectic wine list.
