I like a steak. Period. A good steak is worth paying for. For me, Rib Eye Rare cannot be beat...and neither can the Ox. Absolutely first class meal. The steak naturally is the star of the show but the triple cooked chips and Mac and...More

We come here regularly for business dinners because the atmosphere is great, the staff are welcoming and attentive, and the food is excellent. The steaks are the obvious choice but the other items are equally good, flavoursome pork and a great selection of starters.

The fillet was poor value for money but the rib eye represented slightly better but the real rip off was the chips & fries don’t bother you may as well have something else. I did pay the discretionary charge but it was probably double what...More

I've been meaning to visit The Ox on Corn Street for a little while now and last Friday I eventually made it there. I wasn't disappointed. Thankfully my dining partner has been there a number of times before because I would have walked straight past...More

Was recommended by a good source and my wife and I were not disappointed. Lovely setting, great service, wine and food cooked to perfection by chefs that obviously care, can't wait to come back, and the mustard on the starter sharing platter is unbelievable!!

An unusual basement restaurant not for vegetarians! Steak to die for! Quite expensive but quality assured. Great service. Be warned the restaurant is very dark! I didn’t have a problem with it but saw others using their phone to read the menu!

I had dinner here with colleagues of mine in Bristol. I had to say that I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and the very unique place. The food was excellent, in particular the meat! The beers are kind of different ones. I enjoyed the...More

Booked a table for two for my husband's birthday. We at first couldn't find the restaurant as it is in the basement underneath Wetherspoons. Fortunately we were early anyway and we were seated right away. The menu is expensive but well worth it. We had...More

The steak I ordered was very delicious and tasty. Though a bit pricy, I do recommend this place if you like steak.

I wouldn't recommend this as a restaurant for children. I'm not sure whether they specifically exclude kids, but I would chose somewhere else to go with my tribe. Still an A++ 5* for the grown ups though!
