Food was amazing and without fault. Portions were good and the quality was great. Service was personable and prompt. Would definitely go back if in Bristol again!

This restaurant offers the most amazing steak in Bristol. Nothing else compares to the quality of the food and the atmosphere the at The Ox.

Stumbled upon Ox by accident but what a find. Trendy basement restaurant, beautiful food and good service. It is a little expensive (we paid just under £100 for bread and butter, 2 staters, 2 steaks, 2 sides, 2 bottles of lager and a red wine)...More

Evening out to celebrate my brothers birthday, 8 of us in total and came to £581. Admittedly 6 bottles wine and a few drinks . The decent steaks were £26 up and came without any sides which were £4 each plus sauces at £3. Only...More

With a name like Ox I assumed expertise in the choice and cooking of meat. Sadly the steak was very fatty and gristly even for a rib-eye cut and prepared without flair, At the price charged I was looking forward to well chosen and well...More

We had a table of 7 to celebrate after our daughters graduation. We had cocktails to start then a selection of starters and steak all round. The sharing plate was very good. We managed to squeeze some ice cream in but we're feeling deliciously full....More

Be careful how you ask for your steak cooked, first steak cooked rare came more like blue with no meat juices from it, also very tough and big rind on it, which left very little meat to eat, at £31 just for the steak I...More

My son’s choice for this very special day, excellent menu with some different choices like a bone marrow starter that was delicious. The restaurant were very accommodating when one of our party arrived late and were able to bring the meal together for the mains....More

Good service, food came out very fast and was lovely! I would come back for an occasion as it is quite expensive.

I've recently been trying to find the best steak in Bristol. I would certainly rank the Ox in my top 3. Along with Steak of the Art and Cau.

I wouldn't recommend this as a restaurant for children. I'm not sure whether they specifically exclude kids, but I would chose somewhere else to go with my tribe. Still an A++ 5* for the grown ups though!
