No halibut because Sysco was late with delivery. Cod had doughy batter. All but one ketchup container empty. 4 of 10 tables had dirty dishes. No one cleaning the tables. Garbage left on the floor.

You would think that a restaurant with a name like Captain Hardy's would have great tasting fish and chips. Well if you like your fish with a lot of batter and very little fish, than this is the place for you. On the plus side the staff was pleasant and the atmosphere was lively. Next time we will try something... More

I was looking for a place for breakfast. This seemed to be the only place within eye sight. There is a funky cafe next door that I wish had more food offerings because I don't think this place would still be open then. Upon walking to the door there is a table maybe 5 feet away that people are gathered... More

Most unappealing thing is to see the cook standing at the front door smoking! Barely being greeted and then watch the cook go behind the line and start cooking your food without washing his hands as he picks up the bacon with his grubby cigarette fingers! Barf!! You prepay for your food here so I was assuming he would wash... More

We visited for breakfast. This is a smallish (10 table) basic restaurant. It's clean and casual, a place for visitors and locals to hang out and talk fishing. Breakfast menu was predictable - bacon and eggs, pancakes and french toast. The gentleman who took our order (Captain Hardy?), cooked our breakfast and served it as well. Turns out he is... More

We used this place for our breakfasts. Was correct, but nothing else. We don't know about their meals, but it has a good reputation locally.

If you're looking for a standard breakfast, this will do. I had a good scrambled egg and pancakes that were a little heavy. Instead of serving overly acidic orange juice, you can choose from bottled juices. I know that the owner of Hardy's is trying to use local ingredients in his dishes, which I wholeheartedly support. If you eat here,... More

Boyfriend and I had breakfast wraps on the Filomi days weekend! Really enjoyed it. The staff were great, I asked about the owner and had a pleasant quick chat about the business over the past few years. Very enjoyable! Food was great, the salsa was awesome. Wish I had more, but thats mainly because im crazy for salsa! Lol

I was visiting Port Hardy and stopped for takeout fish and chips. I paid $22 for two piece fish and chips. The fish was tough and it was halibut, and the batter soggy. Chips were nothing special. Perhaps take out isn't the way to go, or perhaps wrapping in newspaper would preserve the crispness. The service was fantastic and the... More
