Great food. Friendly staff. Efficient service. Called in on a bank holiday Monday. They were busy, but service was very quick. Food, although basic, was excellent with no excessive waiting times. Beer selection was superb. Will definitely be calling again

Having spent the morning walking Dove Dale, we (4 adults and 4 children) were ready lunch. Googled for pubs and this was the closest. Menu is simple - sandwiches, burgers and salad bowls. Served in cardboard boxes. Food was adequate, but salads had either too...much or too little dressing/flavour. Burgers were ok. I suspect it caters for passing trade tourists rather than repeat locals - reflected in menu and service.More

Visited today. Not a great selection of food, burgers, chips sandwiches. Food served in cardboard dishes, no garish, very expensive, £6.50 for a sandwich served in cardboard dish. Will not return

An amazing pub. We have missed coming here so much in lockdown as it was one of our favourites off the Tissington trail. The food menu is a delight as is the interior. We always arrive early, mid day, during busy periods, but they deserve...to do well so I hope they get really busy! Good luck with your wonderful pub!More

Visited area for first time and left this establishment feeling that we’d wasted our time. Tables were left uncleared .and covered in both empty glasses and paper plates from previous customers food. The service was awful. We waited 40 minutes to be severed. While waiting...I overheard customers being told that they’d run out of chips. Their menu is made up of different burgers with different varieties of chips so this was a big deal. However by this point I’d already waited close to 30 minutes so thought I’d invested too much time to walk away. I wish I had though, as less than 10 minutes later I heard the next customer being told that the kitchen was not taking further orders as they couldn’t cope. Unbelievably poor service and bad communication. I would not recommend anyone going based on that experience.More

This pub is conveniently located opposite the Narlows Car Park for anyone walking a loop circuit around Thorpe Cloud/Dovedale Steps - a treat of a finish! An independently family owned pub, with a lovely outside patio area with lots of tables in the shade. Inside,...it was very clean with modern decor & a w ide choice of unfamiliar beers, ciders & ales on tap - I recommend the session grapefruit beer after a walk, really refreshing & only 2.5% if you’re driving! We only snacked on a tasty variety of chips (including Cajun & Rosemary) but the menu looked lovely & most importantly the staff were all really friendly. We were so lucky that we pit-stopped here on their re-opening day after 18 months of Covid closure & I wish them well for a busy summer season!!More

We were in the area and chanced upon this pub. What a lucky find, the staff are friendly and know their business. We ordered a couple of burgers and they were delicious! A great atmosphere and very welcoming to dogs too. We will definitely return...here if in the area.More
