We visited on Good Friday and were pleasantly surprised that they could accommodate a table for 6. Service was excellent and the range of food on offer suited all ages, we had 2 children, and 4 adults including grandparents. Everyone had plenty to eat, the...food came quickly but freshly prepared. The desserts were delicious and the bonus was the range of GF options was excellent. Usually the only GF dessert is brownie but there were 4/5 different desserts suitable for a GF diner, including syrup sponge with custard, bread and butter pudding as well as the usual brownies and Eton mess. All in all a really lovely meal. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the service very efficient. Thank you 😊More

After arriving at the cafe in Tissington on a Tuesday , only to find it closed (opens Thursday) and recommend, we backtracked to a pub we had passed enroute . Very pleasantly surprised, welcoming, excellent service, great menu to choose from, I had sausages, mash...and very nice veggies, my son had the gammon egg and chips. Would highly recommend.More

Have been here a couple of times and the food has been fantastic each time. The service is just lovely, just what you expect from a country pub. From one Lanlord to another, you have a great place and we recommend it to anyone in...the area.More

It was everything you want from a pub. Tasty ales, substantial flavoursome food, enjoyed in front of a roaring fire. Perfect place to relax and refuel after a good days walking. We returned, every night of our long weekend, if you’re in Fenny Bentle, make...this your choice you won’t be disappointed.More

We visited as a family of four. Two real ales on offer, the ubiquitous Marston's Pedigree and a Church End 'Goats Milk' pale ale, the latter being on fine form! We had a three course meal starting with soup and garlic mushroom between the four...of us, both homemade and well portioned. Onto mains and a split between roasts and a steak from myself. The medium steak was a very good medium, juicy, tasty and slightly pink on the inside. The accompanying blue cheese sauce was plentiful, tasty and complemented the steak rather than overpowering it. The veg were served separately and plenty was available. The roast dinners were generous in size and included everything you need on a roast with the meat cooked to perfection. Despite being full deserts were attempted and the Baileys creme brulee was certainly had a good measure of Baileys and was accompanied by fruit and shortbread. All the other deserts were also of a good portion size. A thoroughly enjoyable mealMore
