I dined here last week with my family. We had to come back a second time as it was fully booked the first time we turned up (always a good sign). The food is really superb. We did have to wait quite a long time for it to arrive, but it was no bother as we were on holiday. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was very convivial and the restaurant is in a really convenient location in the centre of Ruka Village. It was quite expensive, but then it is Finland. Would definitely return.

Restaurant is nicely decorated in Lapland style. We visited on lunch time. Had a ribs and different salads, found everything good, especially ribs were very tender and moist. Friendly, polite service. Recommended!

4 adults and 4 children.
Kids menu was excellent, proper chicken in breadcrumbs with chips, pasta bolognese, salmon and mash.. all with a choice of carrot, cucumber or salad. Plus a drink and a desert.
The adult burgers were delicious and very filling.
The staff were very attentive, friendly. The recommended drinks were excellent. Finish coffee to end was great.
The location is at the bottom of the ski slope - perfect.

We went to eat in Rukan Kuksa twice during our 3 day stay in Ruka-Kuusamo area. We tried local reindeer dish called Poronkäristys and local fish. They all were absolutely fantastic, not forgetting the chocolate dessert. Highly recommended, I would definitely come back here.
Ps the staff was so lovely as well, greetings to everyone working there!

We have a tradition to go to Kuksa once in a summer. Four adults and two kids.
Food is always good. Local beer is tasty. Desserts are mouthwatering good.
If you go to Ruka or Kuusamo and you are looking good place for dinner, you should go to Kuksa.
Prices are a bit higher than average.

We came here on a free afternoon after a visit to the local Tender farm. Too cold and breezy to do anything outside so we came here based on a reccomendation from our guide.
I had an Elk steak and it was perfect. Cooked to perfection and well presented. My wife had fish and it pretty good too!
Cheeseboard finish was nice too.
Lovely staff and Nic atmosphere.

Fantastic food, service and ambience. Staff was knowledgefull, warm and made good recommendations. Food was tasty and the menu was full of wonderful options. I could not recommend this place more. Thank you!

It is a very good restaurant. The local cuisine is great! My suggestion is to taste rendeer, so good! And for drinking a French wine!
I attach some photos with the dishes a starter, main a dessert, all of them were very good. In my opinion, this restaurant is a “must”.

My husband wants me to try something EXTRAORDINARY ..something DIFFERENT that Finland 🇫🇮 can offer😊so he checked online and found this restaurant. I must say that they truly live by their name😊The place gives you warmth and coziness.It was again near the ‘busy hour’ when we went there and we weren’t able to make reservation but they have seating as well,so no worries 😉 They also speak Your language as I may say because I talked to them in Finnish and English😅and she understood me well. Anyway,you will be greeted by the hostess/waiter for the table setting of your choose and give you the menu.You can take as much time as you want -no need to rush. Once your ready to order she will be right there immediately. The hostess and the waiter that assisted us was the same person who greeted us. She was polite and she had a smiley face. She was very keen to get our order and take note she doesn’t have a pen and paper to jot it down 👍🏼 It was my first time to eat exotic food or should I say not the “usual meal” These were what we ordered😊
1. for our appetizer we got toasted kuksa( I wasn’t able to take a photo coz the food was very delicious that I forgot to take a photo of it😆)
2. Main dish was WILD VENISON tenderloin steak- my husband got medium rare and mine was well done but the meat is not dry and its still tender plus the veggies that came with it were major plus+++

4. Lastly, for dessert i got the chocolate marquise- that i think is very good and healthy too bec. it’s a mixture of dark chocolate cake, berries and raspberry foam(i think it’s a puree😉). My husband had their HOMEMADE sorbet vanilla flavor and it’s also a MUST TRY bec.its flavoursome from usual normal vanilla sorbet that we are used to. The waitress was very accomodating to our needs and is checking from time to time if we need anything or how is the food so far😊 We were extremely immerse on our conversation that we lost track of time,we went out 10mins before the closing time😅
Indeed, we had such a wonderful evening😊
