I would highly recommend the view, as for the ambience, well....It must be extremely difficult to staff in these islands. It shows in the service and the quality of the food and the care how it is prepared. When, understandingly, they must charge higher prices, the food is judged to that standard and it definitely fails. And so did the... More

I had 2 piece fish and chips, I thought being 20 yards from the ocean the fish would be fresh, stupid me, frozen shaped pieces like the store variety (Walmart) with more batter than fish. Both fish and chips were overcooked and dark brown, the coleslaw had no mayo, go figure! I noticed that they penalize you if you are... More

My first visit here was in 2011. This time I had a margarita, and a hamburger. Service was fast and friendly. One of my friends had a pizza and like it. He thought it was very good. My friend had a crab sandwich and thought it was good. Overall we thought the place was OK. Not sure when we will... More

A really great location to boat into and enjoy a nice meal and great drinks. This location is accessible by both roads and water and has the only marine gas station on Pender Island. The drink specials are awesome and the food was very good as well.

Once a year, we try Syren's just to see if the food has improved. Sadly we were disappointed with our lunch once again! My husband ordered the butter chicken. The chicken was undercooked (literally raw inside) and had to be sent back. The second order came quickly and our server was very apologetic. I had the carrot and ginger soup.... More

Our extended family had lunch at Syren's Restaurant at Poets Cove. We came in to have a quick lunch before our fishing trip. The place was busy but there were several servers. We placed our orders and over half an hour later, the waitress came to tell us that some of the items we had ordered were not available. We... More

Order 3 dishes each all of which were below average. The coconut shrimp was over breaded, over cooked and tasteless. The calamari was chewy and salty. The flatbread was also extremely salty all of which left us feeling that we had achieved our salt intake for the week.

As indicated by others the correct title is "Syrens Cafe & Pub". We boated to Pender with some friends and on the plus side all 8 of us raved about the food. Unfortunately we all universally agreed service was at the bottom of the scale and I cannot recall ever receiving such awful service. It has been a number of... More

I sailed to the Poets Cove Marina needing a break from my Salt Spring business and was instantly impressed by a polite and friendly greeting from the dock service provided by Jared, Dan and Tim. (I like to get names when a compliment is due) After a cool-off swim and a refreshing glass of white, I ventured up to the... More

Beautiful setting, really nice waiter (we shared an entrée, and he was 'gracious'). The food looked really good, and generous. Eat in or on the patio. This seems to draw the locals, and that is always a good sign. The prices are slightly high.
