On arrival we thought what a lovely cosy pub but soon disappointed when food arrived. Sons lasagne was dry, he barely touched it. My chilli con carne had no seasoning or flavour. Both the chilli and rice very bland, not a hint of spice or even basic seasoning. The grilled platter was the same, large amount but dry and bland.... More

After a brisk dog walk at Coombe Abbey we headed over to The Bull's Head for Sunday lunch - luckily dogs welcome! Food was good - we got 2 platters to share for starter and it they were more than plentiful and very tasty - mains were roasts, shank and a burger - all received praise! Menu did not have... More

First time here, impressed with the staff and the food. Layout is old pub open plan which makes it family-friendly rather than intimate dining. Menu is quite wide, with plenty of favourites like liver and onion, faggots, lasagne. Also looks like it caters well for children. Only negative is that the actual menu is sheets on a clipboard which were... More

Service was excellent, food superb, between the 9 of us we had 6 different starters 5 different mains and 3 puddings and not a single complaint, and my in laws are fussy. Granny and Grandad will be going here again and again. Can't recommend it enough

We've been here many times but unfortunately today's visit was disappointing. Ridiculously small children's meals, no veg for child's roast dinner, had to have some of ours and given half a burnt Yorkshire pudding! Staff did replace this but not sure how they thought it was acceptable in the first place!! No lamb or fudge cake available! Adult meals were... More

This was a pre Christmas family meal and it was underwhelming. It was early evening and the pub was quiet. The food was disappointing. The chicken tikka masala was clearly a pre grilled chicken breast that was served whole with a covering sauce. There was no attempt to cut the chicken and cook it in the sauce. The naan bread... I have had several fantastic roast dinners at the Bulls Head over the past few months. As always, a very generous portion size with lots of meat on the plate accompanied by all the trimmings. I chose gammon this time. Crisp veg and cauliflower cheese were delivered in side dishes to the table. The staff were pleasant and helpful. They... More

Called in for their lunch deal during the week. Quite a good choice but we both chose the battered cod. The tempora batter was ideal and the fish was meaty and of good size. A couple of drinks- between us- and very satisfied. Will be back to try more of the menu.

Lovely food and friendly welcoming staff - in particular the manager. This pub is definitely back on our regular favourites list. The menu is not extensive but the choice is good and the food is very well cooked and presented. The pub decor has been changed and is very tasteful. The staff never rush you and are happy to help.... More
