OK, a good serving of quality fish and chips is a bit of a treat. Especially sitting on the waterfront at Devonport. No longer at Catch 22 where a few years ago customers - many locals, were queued out the door. This is why: *service, that's a welcome and a smile - these doesn't exist. It reminds me of a... More

This tiny hole-in-the-wall made me a terrific snack of fried oysters, scallops and one other--I've already forgotten--but they were just delicious, and came with a couple of wedges of lemon, which enhanced the flavors. I found the seafood to be extremely fresh, and it was all prepared for me in about 5 minutes. The girls behind the counter didn't smile... More

They've obviously never heard the phrase "service with a smile" here but don't be put off. We bought terakihi and chips to take up Mt Victoria on a glorious Auckland Anniversary Day and they were superb. I can't remember the last time I had fish and chips this good, so I'm prepared to look past the surly service on the... More

Decided to order fish'n'chips for my family dinner to eat at the beach, and they were disgusting!! Overpriced for small portions, fish was burnt, a third of the chips were burnt too, and then they forgot to give us the hot dog we had also ordered. Overall a rip off, and will never go back again!!! If you like crap... More

Ordered 4 Terakihi fish and 3 scoops of chips. The fish was old and overcooked and the 3 scoops of chips looked like only 1 scoop to me as there definitely weren't enough chips to go around 4 people. Overall, bad experience and I won't be in a hurry to go back anytime soon.

The queue was the give away that this was a popular place! On a good day - Devonport is a great place to eat great fish and chips. Not disappointed!

Great place to grab some fish ’n chips, walk across the road to the park, enjoy your meal overlooking Auckland harbour while the kids play in the playground. They cater for gluten-free, but some minor ‘points off’ as our food took a long time to come (perhaps they were unusually busy that day - we were there during the Christmas... More

From the moment we were greeted by the rude asain girl who was serving me I was unimpressed. Especially since iv been going here for years. It was over priced and my daughters sausage was covered in a thick skin that she couldn't bite through, we had to take the skin off.

Food was terribily oily and over priced. The prawns were almost burnt and tiny and they don't even use real calamari rings. We couldn't even finish the chips as they were so greasy. Was such a waste that we couldn't even eat it as it was so bad. Real shame as we had been coming to this store for years.

We saw a long line of people standing outside this shop and thought that it must be good. We we're not disappointed with our order. Although the fish is thin, there was wayyyyy more than what we ordered and the chips were not bad. It's not the best fish n chips I've had, but I would eat there again, unless... More
