We had toured some of the exhibit before deciding it was time for lunch for which we were very excited about as we were visiting from Ireland...the exhibit was just AMAZING and then we walked into the cafeteria and we may as well have been in a substandard cafe. The ambiance did not match what the exhibit portrays. The food... More

had the buffalo burger and also the buffalo chili with bannock. the burger had cheese and bacon that helped with the usual dryness of buffalo a very lean flavourful meat. the chili was great lots of meat and spice flavour.

Limited choices, but the focus is on the use of buffalo. Veggie option available. Had buffalo burger - good sized serving and juicy meat. Fries okay. Husband had buffalo chili which was spiced, but not too hot. Poutine was cheese curds and gravy variety - more than enough to eat. Bannock was dry, but great flavor.

We had to have lunch here because they served buffalo stew and bannock! How often do you go somewhere and the food fits the exhibits? It was good but salty. The poutine is also big enough to share! The staff was very friendly and service was quick.

I'm vegetarian and was glad to see a veggie burger on a menu where buffalo obviously reigns supreme. Friends who tried the buffalo chilly, however, stated that it tasted no different than chicken!

Had lunch here after touring the museum. I had the buffalo chili and it was excellent. My husband had the stew and he really like it also. The Bannock bread is huge. They also have many other selections so it would appeal to most people. Wasn't expecting much at a museum cafeteria but this was an unexpected pleasure.

We stopped here for food before the Buffalo Jump tour. There was quite a line and a limited menu, so we decided on the chili which was ready. It was $8.95 CD and came with a hunk of bread. It was extremely good. The buffalo burgers looked good also, but there was a backup for those. Next time I would... More

Disappointing. No view even though it would have been spectacular if not obscured by wall and glass blocks. Food was ok but too expensive for the simple meal we had.

Nevermind the dismal atmosphere of the fluorescent lighting, 80s maple country chairs, and dingy furnishings in general, I think my bison stew actually had weiners in it. The Bannock was alright but I didn't think it was authentic having been clearly made with white refined flour. The portion size of the chicken strips and fries meal was very generous but... More

There was a limited selection of sandwiches in the cooler, lots of drink selections and a short cafeteria menu. Big feature was the buffalo stew, which they didn't have, some burgers, fries and a couple of other fried food options. Waffle fries for $7 and a burger and fries for $16 seems pricey to me. A better option would be... More
