Was doing some last minute banking and as it was close to lunchtime decided to, once again, check out Appetit on First Avenue, have visited a number of times before, but mostly for breakfast. What a treat, the owner/chef preps/cooks/presents and is obviously enthusiastic about...More

We found Appetit by accident as we stopped off in Ladysmith for a break. I really recommend this place. Its worth taking a wee detour. There is a huge menu either for breakfast or a large lunch. I had the seafood chowder which was absolutely...More

Appetit is a one man show, with the owner cooking, greeting and serving. The shop only has 6 small tables and a few seats at the counter. All food is prepared after you order it. How do I know? Because there is no wall between...More

I forgot to review this the first time we went - it was delicious. We returned last week and it was even better. This falls in the category of 'hole in the wall' places. It's only got 5 or 6 tables. The owner/chef prepares everything...More

Owner takes pride in the food he makes. Always tasty, fresh, and served hot. Stir fry dishes are very good with several choices of sauce and noodles. Really good homemade soups and the best Caesar salad.

There is a diverse menu here with mostly Asian dishes. My Thai Curry special was excellent! The Sweet Pea Soup was delicious, too. The spot is small and the owner and server were very pleasant and happy to serve us. Do not hesitate to come...More

Martin Tang, raised in Hong Kong and chef-trained in Germany, cooks both Thai and Western food on his old kitchen range. Not hidden in the back, you can chat to him about the food and his unusual ethnic combo of foods while he chops and...More

To be accurate this venue would not be out of place on the main street of many little towns in Britain. Not large, nor glamorous but cosy and friendly. Our favourites are the fresh, hot lunch special bowls. But there is lots of choice -...More
