Glad we chose Taverne 1855 for a memorable dinner. We enjoyed the atmosphere, soundtrack and the menu was tempting on many fronts. We chose some regional dishes, the duck was amazing as was the tarte au sucre.

I was looking forward to eating here and anticipating a nice meal but it was not the best experience. I am certain the kitchen was swamped because the errors were not those that a restaurant of this caliber would make. Maybe I made a wrong...choice and should have asked the house speciality. In any case the carbonara was overcooked and looked more like Alfredo, usually a good carbonara consists of yolks only and is very rich tasting, with eth guanciale being crsipy ,not this one! The beef rib was flavorful yet very fatty, not what I expected . My wife had the risotto and it also came overcooked and heavy on the garlic. In reading the other comments I am sure it was just a bad day . For what is was itwas overpriced .but we will try again ,since there were signs of food know how!More

When we arrived we were greeted by a waiter who obviously wasn't happy with his job...The service was bad and when we received our food it wasn't hot... I would not recommend.

Charming and intimate small restaurant serving delectable French cuisine. The calamari was superb as was the duck breast. Wine selection was varied and appropriate for the cuisine. Will definitely return for other options.

We were seated quickly to our table for two. Enjoyed a glass of wine while we waited for our dinner. Restaurant was clean and had a friendly atmosphere. Our server provided excellent service. Located overlooking the marina in downtown Magog which, at this writing is uindergoing a lot of construction, so you have to do some detours to get here. The food was very good and the service friendly and helpful, but a bit slow. My wofe and...I split a grilled Caesar sakad and both had the Linguine Carbonara, all of which was very good. The desserts looked great, but we didn't have time to enjoy one because our 2 hours of parking had already expired and we didn't want to get a ticket (see slow service...).More

I went to taverne 1855 with some family members. Dinner was amazing! We had a cauliflower salad with cod accras as appetizers. For dinner fish and chips, flank steak with onion rings and salad and my father had the short rib sous vide 60 hrs...with the carbonara linguini which was phenomenal!! Jinny gave us a great service! We will definitely be back!! They also have great specials: thursday night fish and chips and a beer for 18$ and on fridays burger and fries and a beer also for 18$ One of the best restaurants around!!More

Visited during the reconstruction of the main road and restaurant is fully accessible from the rear. Awesome service from Jinny with a wide array of menu choices. All our 4 meals were top quality that were thoroughly enjoyed. Bang bang shrimp as an app was...excellent and the smoked salmon gnocchis were a hit. Will definitely go back during our next visit.More

I ordered the Gnocchi.....this was really delicious. Service excellent and friendly.....This is a small space restaurant....a bit cramp but this is not a problem. Ambiance bistro style.

Stopped in for dinner while visiting Magog during the long week end. Service was friendly and welcoming. We ordered the fish n chips based on the recommendation of our waitress. The fish batter was rather tasteless and mushy not at all crispy . The chips...were fine. Also the abundance of fruit flies in the dinning room took away from our experience.More
