We ventured out of San Ignacio in an attempt to get espresso and pupusas. There weren't great directions of how to find the pupusa place, aside from that it's on the main strip across the street from the gas station. For those of you looking to find this place, here you go: From San Ignacio, cross the bridge over the... More

This restaurant is right on the main road but doesn't have a sign. All you need to do is look for the constant stream of locals going into this little place. The food was fantastic. You must try the papusas! They are the main special. My wife and I ate a full meal with fresh juice for $6usd! It will... More

They burn the cheese to just the right amount. The atmosphere is authentic, and you can buy a beer at the gas station across the street.

We have been here many times in the past and always enjoyed their pupusas and panades. Their fresh juices are always very flavourful and very generous sizes. It seems they are open more hours and earlier in the day than they used to. We're not sure if the restaurant is owned by different people, but one thing we noticed is... More

We bring a large group of adults and teenagers from the US to Santa Elena every year for mission work. Every year we stop here for a dinner of papusas, fresh juices, and milk shakes. We usually have between 15-30 people and end up ordering around 4-5 papusas a piece. Since this is such a small restaurant, we always order... More

I love salvadorian food! I like the casual atmosphere of the restaurant. It is also within walking distance of where I live in Santa Elena while visiting Belize. When I visit Belize, I stay for months at a time! Thanks to William Hofman he has the best rooms available for rent at very reasonable rates. You are close enough to... More

Every time I travel to San Ignacio, I have to stop and treat myself to their fried tacos and either bean or chicken panades. This is a very busy spot - food is delicious, fresh juices daily, and lots to choose from. I LOVE the fried tacos - add some of their home-made hot sauce, and it doesn't get much... More

If you like pupusas, panades and other Salvadorean dishes, try out this tiny little place right on the main highway in Santa Elena. There are about 4 or 5 tables out front. We love the pupusas and panades and they are very cheap - $2.50 BZ ($1.25 US) for the pupusas and panades are 3 for $2 BZ (3 for... More
