WE had a gift certrificate to use and took advantage of the good weather to visit Nathaniel"s for lunch. The lunch menu was large. My wife had bacon wrapped scallops followed by veal. I had french onion soup followed by fresh white fish. They had...a good wine selection. We indulged in cheesecake and pecan pie. Tea was seved in a proper pot . The service was great and lunch very enjoyable.More

Our friends, my husband and I had a lovely dinner here. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. What a lovely place for a romantic dinner, or a special occasion dinner. We will revisit the next time we come to Owen Sound!

We have been coming to the Owen Sound area for the last few years and just found Nathaniel's...and how we didn't find it before alludes us but we definitely plan on becoming regulars. The restaurant is beautifully appointed, the service was impeccable and the food...was delicious. Surf and turf was our pleasure this evening and it was cooked to perfection. The wine selection is plentiful and the price point was excellent. From start to finish it was a pleasurable dining experience that we look forward to experiencing again.More

This is a lovely little family restaurant in downtown Owen Sound, Delaware. My friend and I were in town with our kids on the weekend to escape from the big city. The food is good and the service is excellent. We enjoyed eating there because...the atmosphere is non-hurried and we had the chance to relax and interact. The menu is kids-friendly. Will come back.More

If you're going to or live in or near Owen Sound, Ontario it's worth it to stop in to Nathaniel's Restaurant. During a recent trip my wife and I sought somewhere for dinner and came across Nathaniel's on line. The food and service were excellent....We were served by the owner, Jeff who was most cordial and delightful. The menu is considerable and reasonably priced as is the wine list. The food was excellent as was the service. So, do yourself a favour, put Nathaniel's on your list of "must go" places. You'll be glad you did.More

We celebrated my wife’s Birthday with dinner at Nathaniel’s, and it was a wonderful evening! We started with the combination appetizer platter. 4 bacon wrapped scallops, four chilled jumbo shrimp, and two pieces of Bruschetta. While everything was very good, I have to say the...Bruschetta was incredible! I have no idea what type of Balsamic was drizzled on it, but the taste was incredible. For mains, my wife had one of the three fish specials, a Cajun spiced catfish, while I opted for the 6 oz striploin and lobster tail. Both meals were perfect! The fish was cooked perfectly, as was my steak. A nice sear on the outside, but still managing to deliver a perfect medium rare cook! As for the lobster, I was a little leery, as I assumed the tail would have been frozen, and as a result, could be a little rubbery. While it may have been frozen (not sure) it certainly was perfect! Sweet, tender, and perfectly cooked. Presented pulled out of the shell, and served with hot garlic butter, it looked beautiful. Both dinners came with fresh vegetables, and choice of Rice Pilaf or a baked potato. We both opted for the rice, which was also cooked perfectly. For desert, a chocolate raspberry cake that was amazing! Not overly sweet, but so delicious. Our server, Corey, was wonderful, and ensured out all of our needs were looked after, while not being intrusive. Great job to all for an amazing dinner!More

We knew this was a high-end restaurant before we went, but were not disappointed by the food nor price. You get what you pay for, and in this case you get excellent food and service. We had the Penne Carbonara and the whitefish, and both...were exceptional.More

My partner and I have been coming to Owen Sound for several years, but had not visited Nathaniel's until last week. Service was attentive and quick. We had previously viewed the menu online, so, save for the evening's specials, we were familiar with the offerings....The specials were announced to us, our wine order was taken, and warm garlic bread was brought to the table. The table was elegant with white linens and fresh flowers. The music was subdued. Both my partner and I had questions about specific items, and, sadly, neither of the servers could provide us with answers. We believe a restaurant of this caliber should be focused on server knowledge (i.e. instructing them on the ingredients, flavour profiles, etc.); this was the only criticism of the evening. We had the orange roughy, which came with rice pilaf and perfectly cooked mixed vegetables and the Thai shrimp, which too came with rice and the same vegetables. The food was hot, beautifully presented and the portions were perfect. We had read that the were known for their coconut cream pie; I was too full, but dear husband availed himself and he was not disappointed. An espresso would have topped my meal off, but it was not available. The prices are very fair; for one pre-dinner cocktail, two 9 ounce glasses of wine, two entrees and one desert the final bill was $84.00. The menu is tight and focused and the years of service to the Owen Sound community and faithful followers shine through beautifully.More
