Most restaurants with a spectacular view rely on it to get customers, losing their focus on the food. Not The Observatory. The food was fabulous with an obvious attention to detail, beautifully presented, with an array of amazing flavours on each plate. It was all wonderful, and the fact that we were looking out at an incredible view of Vancouver... More

Excellent service, gorgeous views, lousy food! Felt mass produced and buffet area was messy. Young staff trying their best. The $65 price ticket (included tip & gondola) did not deliver as far as food quality.

Okay. Where to start? This was a sad excuse for an Easter brunch. Our table was up against a back wall with no view but the "get your own water, oange juice, coffee and hot water from a jug with your choice of tea bag" table was in the window. We could see the tops of a few trees and... More

Beautiful view from the restaurant. The ambience is awesome for fine dining. Menu prices can be pricey but lots of excellent choices from the menu. The ride itself to GrouseIs an experience to have. In the summer you'll see wild life along the way to the top. The peace is accessible by local transportation.

Thoroughly disappointing experience from service to food. Do not waste your money here. My mom is a small water and she was definitely not full from the 5 course tasting menu. Wine pairings were off, food was uninteresting and not tasty. The best part was the complimentary bread but when we requested more they wanted to charge us $5. I... More

Dear Vicki L, We’re sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy your dining experience at The Observatory. You should never have been charged for additional bread, and our Restaurant Manager has followed up with your server on this. Since the time when you dined at The Observatory, we have actually adjusted our wine pairings associated with the tasting menu. While we... More

I set for five-course Prix Fixe Tasting Menu, which promised an experience in food and wine matching. And an experience it was. I guess I expected something more interactive. The question of food preferences or allerigies was brought up only after I flatly refused one of the courses. Unlike other revievers, I was offered an extra portion of another dish... More

Dear Monika Z, How unfortunate that you didn’t enjoy your dining experience at The Observatory restaurant. The Prix Fixe Menu is certainly one of the options we offer. We also offer a full a la carte menu that is sometimes a better choice for diners who have specific food preferences or allergies – and we always appreciate when guests make... More

While the service is good and the food is decent, the experience really requires Mother Nature's cooperation. As the name indicates, you go to the Observatory for the outlook and view. Unfortunately, we got socked in with a thick fog and couldn't even see the gondola. As hard as the staff try, it's not worth the effort to get up... More

This fine restaurant has a great view from the top of the mountain. It is not too big and not too small, which gives somewhat comfortable and cozy feelings. I visited this restaurant in the winter during ski season as it has ski slopes to the top of the mountain. Servers at the restaurant are knowledgeable and very kind. They... More
