Lovely location, setting and good quality food. Clear and well organised Social Distancing and safety measures and a good atmosphere in the restaurant. Plenty of parking and a restaurant that we certainly hope to return to. Just a couple of pointers regarding menus : Having...checked the menu on the board by the road on the day of the visit, in preparation for the evening meal, we were disappointed to find that the actual menu was different. If the board by the road is a sample please state that as it is misleading to book/attend based on an incorrect menu. Secondly the actual menu stated "Fish Cakes", plural. Disappointing that fish cakes turned out to be singular not plural. Again rather misleading. Service was good, although sometimes felt a little rushed and could be much more unobtrusive. Other than these relatively minor issues a very pleasant eveningMore

We were staying for a few days in the Derbyshire dales and came across Biggin Hall on the internet after the local eateries all seemed to be unavailable on a Sunday evening. We were not disappointed and had a lovely early Summer's evening drive there...and back too, enjoying the lovely Dales. The restaurant was fairly large and accommodated diners in a distanced yet friendly manner. Service was excellent with prompt and attentive staff. The menu was not large but the food was of a high standard of presentation and quality. The Biggin Hall evidently caters for a large proportion of resident guests but we were very happy with our visit just for evening meal. Menu covered a range of cuisine and we enjoyed good starters followed by bream with asparagus and a pork loin "roast-themed" main courses and enjoyed a nice cheeseboard and excellent sticky toffee pudding. With wine we paid over £40 per head but food quality and service would to my mind justify a fine dining experience.More

We have visited Biggin Hall for a number of meals before, it is only around 10 miles from home and we have had some very good family parties there in the past. I was very surprised to find that I was able to book a...table in the restaurant at very short notice. The alterations have really upgraded the restaurant now and the gardens are always lovely. We sat outside with a gin & tonic whilst choosing from the menu. The food was all fabulous and couldn’t be faulted. The friendly service was impeccable and they have a very good range of drinks on offer. Needless to say we did not leave without making another booking and look forward to returning with larger family groups once restrictions are lifted further.More

Luckily for us Biggin Hall is local so we eat in the restaurant 3 or 4 times a year. We last visited end Oct with 2 close family members. A 3 course meal for £32.50 worth every penny. The food was excellent as always together...with a good choice of wines. Perfect setting/ ambience , friendly staff and beautiful garden views. A lovely little touch now is the outdoor greenhouses set in the grounds , all warm and cosy and lit up with fairy lights. A good choice if you are still abit worried about covid .We ate in the main restaurant which was also very safe with timed booking slots and tables well away from other diners. Have booked for Christmas day lunch so keeping fingers crossed for min Tier 2 mid Dec. Tip- Summer treat -the lunches and Cream teas are also not to be missedMore

We stayed at Biggin Hall for 5 days, we had an excellent time. Very comfortable room in Lodge. Excellent Breakfasts and evening meals and packed lunch, now due to covid19 is all pre ordered. Pre ordering works really well. Evening meal is an ever changing...daily menu. Social distancing is all in place. The staff are warm and welcoming. Many excellent walks from the door.More

We booked last minute as decided to impulsively tour the Yorkshire dales and Peak District. Choose Biggin Hall as well reviewed and wow... does it deserve it. Upon arriving the staff are incredibly welcoming and polite. We arrived early and without expectation of doing so,...did what they could to allow us in the room early. The room was clean, spacious and as expected. The main building and gardens are beautiful and the real wow factor came at dinner. The food was incredible, the South African Avondale wine they recommended was brilliant and best of all, the staff are incredibly professional, friendly and warm. It makes a real difference and we got the impression everyone loved working there and took pride in what they did. We ended up eating there again our second and final night as was so impressed. Incredibly there was a different menu which made our second meal as unique as the first! Breakfast, pack lunches and the rest of the overall experience followed suit. Thank you all for a wonderful stay! We will recommend and be back!More

See main review of hotel for my comments. But the 3 course meal was magnificent. Save room for the chocolate Torte!

With some apprehension my wife and I took our first COVID19 hotel break to Biggin Hall. The staff have worked hard to be covid safe without spoiling the experience and personalally I think they've succeeded.I felt very safe during my stay but the precautions though...ever present didnt ruin the experience. Enjoyed some great walking across the fabulous landscape that surrounds the hotel. The food was excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. I will return.More
